Hi,

I have access to the following website through my school:

http://digital.films.com

I have tried using Video Download helper to download videos from this website, but the problem is that 95% of the time the video is a partial download. For example, if I want to download a 55 minute video, Video Download Helper will only download between 2 and 40 minutes of a video. It might take 10 to 20 attempts to successful download an entire video. I have never been able to download a video that is more than an hour in length.

The Digital.films.com website uses F4F fragments to stream videos, so perhaps there is a problem with downloading all of the fragments, but even after I have let a video load in its entirety I fail to download the video 95% of the time.

Do I need to change something in the settings of Video Download Helper?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

I'm afraid there is not much we can do here. Would it be possible for you to try downloading from a place with better network connectivity so you minimize the chances to get download errors ?

Ok. I'll try to see if there are any connectivity issues.

I think the best solution would be if in the future there was some way for users of Video Download Helper to have some control over the f4f files and make sure they were all download and then converted converted to flv files.

Thanks

One other question: when downloading videos that use f4f files, is it best that we let the entire video load first and then try downloading?

The support for F4F is very new. In fact it was just introduced in the last version 5.4.1, so there is no doubt we have room from improvements given users feedback like yours.

I don't think this would make a difference, but i'm not 100% sure.
