His for about a week now Video Downloadhelper will no longer download videos from Youtube. It doesnt matter what format or quality I try to save the video as or what channel/video I am trying to download from. The downloads simply hang in the Video Downloadhelper box. A blue box with the number of videos I am trying to download sits there while the download arrow to the left never turns blue, it always stays grey. If I click on it to expand it it simply says "unknown time remaining - 0 bytes" and never gets beyond that point. Eventually the downloads fail with the error:  [Exception... "the connection was established but no data was ever recieved." nsresult: "0x804b0014 (NS_ERROR_NET_RESET)" Location: "JS frame :: resource://gre/modules/DownloadCore.jsm :: this.DownloadError :: line 1512" data: no]  Anyone got any ideas? Like I said, doesnt matter what video I try to download. And, I can use Video Downloadhelper on other sites to snatch videos. It just seems to be an issue with Youtube.

It might be a conflict with another add-on. Try to create a new Firefox user profile and install VDH only from there. Do you still have the same problem ?

I dont have any other add ons. In fact just to check I uninstalled firefox and did a clean reinstall with only video downloadhelper installed and I get the same thing.

Ok so it's not a conflict with another add-on.

The error you mentioned "NS_ERROR_NET_RESET" means the actual download (by Firefox from youtube servers) has been interrupted. Could it be a firewall/AV issue ? Or a network issue from your ISP ?

I dont think so for two reasons: 1. video downloadhelper works on every other site Ive attempted. This seems to be an issue strictly with youtube. 2. As a test I downloaded a clean copy of firefox and vdh to my laptop (a different computer than the one I am currently using) took it to my girlfriends house in another town where she uses a different ISP, and still had the exact same problem. Im surprised nobody else is having this issue.

Not sure what to deduce from that. Is there any chance you use Sync on Firefox which would explain a somehow corrupted configuration would be shared between your 2 computers ?

I presume if it was a new problem with YouTube changing something, we would see hundreds of messages about it in this forum.

I'm having identical symptoms.  Works on other sites like Vimeo, but not Youtube. I'm using the latest Firefox etc

Do we agree that the symptom is theNS_ERROR_NET_RESET error message appearing in the console and Firefox download manager ?

Correction, I am not seeing this console message. Other than that, my symptoms match

Do you mean neither download (audio nor video) starts in the Firefox download manager ?

A lot of people don't use DownloadHelper for downloading YouTube videos but rather, we use other download managers.

But I noticed YouTube has made some changes (I think) recently and it's no longer possible for us to download their videos, using any of the other download managers.

I know you were working on trying to make it possible for us to use DownloadHelper to download all YouTube videos.
As YouTube has (possibly) changed something at their end, could you 'adjust' your DownloadHelper so we can use it to download any and all YouTube videos, please?  I'd really appreciate it.

Also, I noticed we can't download videos from hosts such as estream.to and watchers.to.
An example of this is at: http://www.alluc.ee/l/Minutes-s49e20-YKJack-February-19-2017-mp4-mp4/dy6hokgk
Could you adjust DownloadHelper so we can download videos from these hosts also, please?

Thank you kindly, in advance.
