I purchased the video converter, but haven't been able to successfully download a single ADP video from YouTube. Every ADP download I've attempted results in:

Failed aggregating "Video Name"

As an example, both of the "ADP - 1280x720 - MP4" videos from this page fail:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PO--0h8XHiw

Resolution and codec of the video doesn't seem to matter, any ADP download fails with the same error.

I loved the old plug-in and I'm happy to support you guys, but I'd like the $30 I spent on the converter back if I'm expected to beta test your software.

Thanks

Thanks for purchasing the conversion license.

You mention in the title that you were using 5.0.0rc1. It's better you use 5.0.1 that you can download from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper/versions/

But that's probably not the issue here. If you installed ConvertHelper at the time you installed 5.0.0rc1, chances are that you are running ConvertHelper 3.1. This version, on some 32 bits systems, causes the exact error you describe, because of a runtime DLL you may lack in your OS. Please, go back to http://www.downloadhelper.net/install-converter3.php and re-download/install ConvertHelper, which should then appear in version 3.1.1.

Let us know how it goes.

Of course, if you cannot use our product, we will refund your purchase.

After updating both the extension and conversion tools things still weren't working, but I did discover the source of the problem--in the converter settings there was no path entered for the conversion executable. I entered the correct path and everything seems to be back on track.

Thanks for your help.

Dear Rick,

Can you explain how to enter in the correct path of the conversion executable-do you enter it into the terminal? (Sorry if you have to "explain it to me like I'm five). I too am having the same problem and tried updating the extension and conversion tools.

Cheers,
Judith

On Windows, you don't configure the converter path, it's automatic.
On Mac and linux, it's in VDH Settings > More > Conversion, "Advanced" checked, parameter "Converter path".

BUT you added your comment to a one year old topic, so many things have changed since then. Make sure you run 5.5.0a20 if you have problems with YouTube or getting aggregation errors. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper/versions/5.5.0a20
