Right click download of a video using VDH does not allow file naming or directory selection

Hi ya, 

First, this is the BEST download utility for webpages that I've ever found. LIGHTYEARS ahead of anything else I've found. I've gladly paid for a licence.

I have a request though.

Chrome, WIndows 10

When I use the right click context menu to download a video, it doesn't ask me for the directory or the filename. It just downloads it to the default directory.

I find that this just never works because I always need to change the file name, and often the directory.

Can we please get an option to ask for the filename and location when using the right click menu?

hi,

you can change the download directory in the settings, third tab "Behavior".

If you select "Download" instead of "Quick download" (you can use it as default action) you should be prompt to change location and name.

When you right click and use the context menu, you don't get that option at all. It just starts downloading.

I did a download through the right click menu and it gave me a save as prompt to choose file name and download location.

Do you have an example video where it wasn't working ?

What Jerome is trying to tell you is that you have to use the regular VDH menu at least
once to download something. Click the box for Use this action as default. Then select
the Download action, not Quick download, Download & Convert, or any other action. Let
that one download complete. Once that is done, you can pop up the context menu on an
object & selecting it in the VDH submenu will perform your default action, which will be
a regular Download at this point. Since that action includes the file selection dialog,
you should have what you want.
