CoApp 1.2.1?

   Is there a co-app 1.2.1?  When I attempted to download a video, a screen appeared saying I must upgrade the co-app from 1.2.0 to 1.2.1 (DLH 7.3.0a3).  There was a button to download the coapp 1.2.1 but Norton said it was infected and removed the installer.  In any case, I can no longer download.  Is there a solution?  If there is a coapp 1.2.1, where can I download it safely?

More specifically:  The screen took me to your site and I downloaded again.  When I attempted to execute the installer, Norton again removed it.  The "details" page says:

  Threat type: Insight Network Threat. There are many indications that this file is untrustworthy and therefore not safe.

Oh right ! Every single new release of the coapp for Windows triggered that kind of warning. I made the necessary false positive declaration to Symantec. By experience, it takes a few hours for them to whitelist the .exe file.

Thanks, I will.  But I wonder: I've been using VDH 7.3.0a3 for a couple of weeks now.  Why is a new coapp necessary, and 1.2.0 no longer functions?

A user reported a problem with 1.2.0 that youtube webm videos could not be aggregated when not having a license. It turned out the converter was missing the vp9 video encoder. This has been fixed in 1.2.1.

Note that you are running on VDH beta versions. You are having fixes and improvements weeks in advance but the downside is that things like this one (having to update coapp more frequently) are more likely to happen. If this is a problem for you, you can switch back to VDH public releases by just installing the latest public version from https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper/

Don't know what is here wrong but last DH Beta release with last Companion don't solve the issue with the vp9 encoder.

Are you absolutely sure you are running coapp 1.2.1 from https://github.com/mi-g/vdhcoapp/releases/tag/v1.2.1 ?

Can you open a shell (either cmd.exe or powershell.exe), change directory to c:\Program Files\net.downloadhelper.coapp\converter\build\win\64 (or ..\32 if on a 32 bits machine) and run .\ffmpeg.exe -codecs ? What does the line corresponding to vp9 say ?

In my case, on Windows, both 64 and 32 versions show support for vp9 encoder:

To be sure I've tried to install again the last companion release

From the VDH config page I got the 1.2.1 version number for the companion.

With the cmd, I get following infos about vp9 without decoders/encoders infos:

I tried several times to download it but it onlyh downloaded and exe.part which is of course unusable.

I also think that the upgrades of firefox should be advised abd have to possibility to postpone the upgrade, same with ALL upgrades that have to take place.

Am now unale to download anymore.

Hi mig,

my ffmpeg.exe file was OK (exactly same length), but I had a lot of differences with files in the directory...

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the companion and have now the same folder/files structure like yours.

I get only MKV choices for this video now (no more Webm) and it works !
