At least half my attempts to download large files now come up with an error message stating "Array buffer allocation failed". Why is this happening, what does it mean and can it be fixed. Please note I am a senior computer user with no idea about how they work so please remember this in your responses.

Isn't the message "Invalid typed array length" instead ? If so this should have been fixed in the latest beta. You can install it from https://www.downloadhelper.net/firefox/betas or wait for the next public release 7.3.0.

I had the same error and this was followed by a 2.8 GB worth of OS (C:) space disappearing, with no file to account for the data. Any idea how to retrieve the lost hard drive space?

Was the same error "Array buffer allocation failed" or "Invalid typed array length" ?

With sufficient memory available I attempted to download a 2.8 GB size video and after reaching 100% download completion, I got the error message "Array buffer allocation failed" and lost the said quantity of hard drive space.
