i have been downloading a ton of files when I realized that I had in error when i changed the hard drive name and thus the default download folder I had specified in the co-app behaviors field no longer exists. i find it odd that chrome, the macOS, or VDH did not alert me to this.
since there are a large number of files involved in my erroneous mistake, and they are large files I would think I could locate them.
does chrome for macOS 13.4 and chrome Version 118.0.5993.21 have a default temp cache like place I should look so i can find them? i have scoured and searched for many hours.
please help if anyone knows.
this error by occurred inadvertently by using an older instance of chrome that i hadn't in a long time the software was current, the profile / person / identity is what is out of date. therein the behaviors panel where i have set where i want the downloads to go is defined to a 'now' non-existent directory. albeit at one time it did, today it does not.
i have this set correctly in the same browser [chrome] under a different identity [person].
i spent a day downloading in the fashion before became aware of my error. one would think that there is some sort of cache / temporary location they may have been sent to but i can't find any such place on my system, hard drives, in the VDH support forum [which is a full day also here looking]. i have not been successful in finding out how i may locate them in google chrome docs either.
if anyone reads this and has recovered from such, or like, and has a tip for me to find them with the idea i could spend a day to save a day or 2/3, etc. I will be forever grateful.
i have not cleard temp files, nor hwsitory etc. wioth the hope those track me back to reco recover my hard work.
one can only hope.
thank you in advance.
