Trying to download Chinese Anime, there is no audio on the file

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to download Chinese dubbed anime (http://www.ktkkt.com/g/2223/player-0-1.html)

The file downloads but when I play it back in VLC or Quicktime there is no audio at all.

It's as if the audio track has not been downloaded with the video??

I've tried chrome and firefox, both using the latest versions of the extension and download helper.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Well, no expert seems to be responding & you are asking politely for anyone so . . .  I tried it.  The video in your link provided above offered no problem I could see for VDH.  It downloaded the file without a hitch in about 8 minutes for me.  It probably would have taken longer but I closed the web page once the download launched so the playback & the download wouldn't compete for my bandwidth.  (If it had been of any substantial length, I wouldn't have bothered.)  The variant listed by VDH is HLS streaming MP4.  It is the only variant listed.  The downloaded video is of duration 24:52, a file of size 192M, according to the file property details.  The resolution is 1280x720, the data rate & total bit rate are both reported as 1082kbps (which in my experience is very low), & the framerate is 24 frames per second.  The audio section of the properties is, ominously, empty.  I can confirm that there is no audio on this, although VLC plays the video without a problem for the full 24:52.  (I skipped through it without watching it but let it play the last 30 seconds or so just to confirm that it was all there.)  Of course, absence of audio is no hindrance to me because (a) I didn't understand the language I heard when I went to the web page & it automatically started playing the video and (b) I find the content utterly uninteresting.  I download stuff from elsewhere almost daily & it's got audio, no problem.

OK.  So now you have a completely useless response.  All I did was confirm your problem.  Maybe an expert could post something helpful.

I looked at this a few days ago, and like Willy, verified that the Audio section of the File properties detail was empty...thus no sound.  Although the HLS playback, using the requested Adobe Flash Player, did play on the screen, the VDH download did not capture the sound.  Don't know if the conversion of HLS could have corrupted the file, or the audio file never gets recognized.  Since the URL was not translated, there is no way to look at some of the many other Asian sites for this Anime.  Good Luck.  Ran an English translation on the page and see Playing Pokeman XY+XYZ.  I really don't think this sort of video is meant for VDH.  J, have you ever had any success with these types of files before, and now it no longer works??

After hours of frustration I tried VDH on some other series on the same website and it worked completely fine! So easy to use and worked exactly as expected.

I think I just got unlucky trying it for the first time on a strange URL!
