Hi there,

I'm using the newest VDH 7.3.6 addon with the newest coapp 1.2.4 on Windows 10 on Firefox 67.0.2.

But the aggregation/conversion seems slow to me.

100% CPU utilization and the GPU part does nothing, i.e. it idles.

So please integrate hardware acceleration support of Intel QSV, AMD and Nvidia GPU acceleration support.

I think you just need to use/integrate the newest video frameworks in coapp in oder to get support for this, like FFMPEG, etc.

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards from Germany,

Patrick S.

Hi Patrick,

Have you in any way succeeded in using GPU support with VideoDownloadHelper?
I'm on mac and using an older macmini (i7 cpu) but I have also external Nvidia GPU (eGPU).

Each time I'm using VideoDownloadHelper, I see / hear the CPU's fan rev up, and ffmpeg spike to several 100%.
And the eGPU does no work unfortunately.

I have searched and found that it seems possible to compile ffmpeg to use eGPU, but being not familiar with all this, I'm looking for deeper information / confirmation that this is the way to go?

Thanks for your input!

Aggregation IS slow when you don't have a VDH license.  This is explained in multiple places in this forum.  Do some searches.

I've done searches, and I have a VDH license. I would very much like to use my expensive GPU if it would speed up transcoding (& aggregating if applicable)
I understand that VDH and the Companion App don't actually decide whether to use my GPU vice CPU, that's up to FFMPEG as installed on my system.
I just thought that the wise and kind people on this forum might have information already that could be relevant.
