This is not a common issue. Are you very sure of the location where you try to save the file ? Did you try the Quick Download action ?

Humm, i think i got it :) Are you trying to open the file from the Firefox download manager ? In some cases, VDH first downloads to the temp directory then moves the files to the requested location. If you try to open the file from the download manager, it says "File not found" because the file isn't there anymore.

Once the file is downloaded, you should look for it from the storage directory you specified to VDH.

To mig,
There is not a compelted 1080p video at my destination directory and this issue doesn't happen only 1080p but also 720p.

Once you finished downloading and aggregating your 1080p or 720p video, if you did not leave the video page, the entry should still be in the VDH panel. Click the big + sign next to it then action "Open containing folder". Your file should be there.

720p video don't need to be aggregated. I try again but when I click "open containing folder" on download bar of Firefox. Firefox doesn't open folder that I save the video and when I open that folder. There is not the downloaded video.

Some 720p videos need to be aggregated (the ones that are marked ADP), but that's not the point: if you see the problem with non-ADP videos, at least we know where not to look for.

To summarize, you request the download of a video, the download happens (you can see it in both the Firefox download manager and the VDH panel), but when the download is finished, the file is nowhere to be found.

You mentioned 720p and 1080p videos, do you mean you don't have the problem with lower quality videos, like 480p ?

Can you think of an utility that could delete files on your system like an aggressive anti-virus ?

I don't think the antivirus is a cause of this problem. Because it will alert me if it found malicious code.

Can you do this:

- request the download from VDH and stay in the page
- reopen the VDH panel
- you should be able to monitor the operation: download + optional aggregation
- once the operation is complete, the entry you downloaded should be back at the top of the VDH panel
- click the big + sign next to it
- this opens the actions panel
- you should see there "Open containing folder", click on it
- do you see your file in the file manager window that opens ?

I think your team should fix this problem with Youtube. Because I can download some videos on Youtube but I cannot download the most other videos on Youtube with that error message.

This 1080p video that I can download with Video Download Helper:

I assume your original problem with missing downloaded video files has gone.

Yes, YouTube protected videos cannot be downloaded. This is why VDH displays the "video must be protected" message (did you notice the "1" in red on the VDH icon ? click the icon to the error text at the bottom of the panel).
Note that this issue also was occurring with VDH4 (but in a silent way) for a long time.

I'm sure you will understand the problem is not technical here.

Ok. So, I will use other tool in my machine that has not any problem with 1080p video on youtube and don't have to wait video aggregation instead

I am having the same issues as Dexter.  First problem was when I couldn't find my downloads where I saved them or anywhere else.  When I clicked on the Down Arrow showing Downloads, each video that I thought I downloaded is in the list, but shows "0 bytes".  When I went to:

How to verify Video DownloadHelper is working

I tried to open up the list with the "+" signs and it would not open.  I tried a new browser and still wouldn't open.  But, like I said, I had just tried to download videos and that list DID open then.  I thought it was downloading just as it always has, because it acted like it always has.  The videos just never showed up in the location I saved them to.

I clicked on the two links Dexter posted (below), and one works and one doesn't work, just as he said.

It might be "not common", but I get this all the time. VDH seems to have, essentially, stopped working in a number of ways. I really only use it for download from youtube. Doesn't detect mp4 files, and if it does, it often fails to download them, or they don't work when downloaded. Overnight last night I left VDH running, downloading 3 mp4 files, none of which had downloaded this morning, after 12 hours :(
