Frontrunners (Caroline Suh 2008)
A hit at the 2008 SXSW and Maryland Film Festivals, Frontrunners is a
documentary that takes on two of our favorite tropes -- electoral
politics and teen angst -- and delivers the engaging story of student
body elections at New York City's prestigious Stuyvesant High. It's as
funny as Election (minus the embarassing antics of the teachers) and
it answers that age-old question: what's the point of being student
body president, anyway? The soundtrack includes music by local
favorites The Oranges Band as well as Of Montreal and Elf Power.
