FACTS:
42% of single fathers are divorced, 38% never married, 16% are separated, and 4% are widowed.
8% of single fathers are raising three or more children under the age of 18.
34% of children in the U.S. live without their father.
40% of children living in father-absent homes haven’t seen their father at all during the past year. 50% have never set foot in their father’s home.
90% of homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes.
71% of pregnant teens come from fatherless homes, as do 63% of youth suicides and 83% of children exhibiting behavioral disorders.
70% of juveniles in state-operated insitutions are fatherless. 85% of youths in prisons grew up in fatherless homes.
