to Victoria Village Homeowners at Colorado Springs
We have lived here in Victoria Village for 21 years and have seen many
changes; some good but for the most part at least in the past few
years not so good. To all of the residents who have taken an active
cause in trying to make sure that Victoria Village has been kept on
the right track, we want to say thank you. It is sad to me though
that even with this type of forum where you actually have all of the
time to say what you feel, ask as many questions as you woul like and
be involved without a 15 minute time limit that there is not more
participation. It just seems that it is usually the same few as it is
at the meetings who are willing to have their voices heard. I find it
curious too that with all that is being written that there are no
responses from many of the board members. This would be an opportune
time so as to not take up all of that valuable time at the monthly
meeting to go into some detail as to what exactly is going on here in
Victoria Village!

jwd,
Thank you for your comments.  This message group was created to allow all persons involved with Victoria Village (resident owners, absentee owners, renters, board members, service providers, and others) a place to congregate virtually and discuss anything germane to the community.  The participation has ebbed and flowed over the last few years and the traffic commonly leans towards only the discussion of problems in the community.  You are spot-on with the thought that this would be a good place to discuss smaller issues and not take up time at the monthly board meetings.  Unfortunately there's a catch...
This message group isn't very popular with the Victoria Village Board of Directors in general and down right resented by one.  To date they have all declined to participate officially and only a few have participated from a personal point of view.  Some board members have also expressed that they don't believe that we should have the right to have VictoriaVillage.net exist and want to control of the site and messages posted.  None of those things are going to happen.  You may be interested to know that the owner of VictoriaVillage.net is not a member of the association and does not live (and never has lived) in Victoria Village, their interest in the domain is purely for the traffic it generates.
I have also be requested by the board to remove posts the board found objectionable.  While the owner and administrators of VictoriaVillage.net reserve the right to remove any post for any reason (or no reason at all), not one has ever been removed (other than obvious spam postings).  Warnings have been issued to persons who have posted offensive language and personal attacks, but again not a single post has been removed.  The basic philosophy is that everyone has a right to be heard and the expectation is that they be responsible for what they have posted (the administrators will take NO responsibility for what you think, say, or do).
