OT: Join the Goblin Empire dragon boat team!

Great to see some of you last night at Swans. I paddle on a dragon
boat team called the Goblin Empire and we're recruiting. A couple of
the people at the meet-up last night expressed some interest in
joining so with Ron's blessing I'm spamming the Victoria Open Web
group :)

Do you have what it takes to be a Goblin?
The Goblin Empire is recruiting paddlers to join our dragon boating
team. No experience necessary! We're all about working hard but having
fun is the primary goal. Most of us are in our late 20s-early 30s.
We practice on Tuesdays from 5:30pm-7:00pm and Thursdays from
7pm-8:30pm at the Gorge Rowing & Paddling Centre located at 2940
Jutland Road. PFDs and paddles are provided.
The fee for the season is $350. This includes the use of the boats for
practices as well as race fees. The festivals we are scheduled to
compete in:
Gorge Super Sprints (May 22)
Navy Chicken Run (sometime in June?)
Nanaimo Dragon Boat Festival (July 10-11)
Gorge Fest (August 7)
Victoria Dragon Boat Festival (August 14-15)
Sound interesting? You're welcome to join us at a practice or two to
see what it's all about before committing to join. Just send an email
to our team captains, Marcus and Tara, letting them know which
