Hi All,

We are overdue for our next meet-up. To get the next one going we need to agree on a time and a topic.

Does Thursday, January 29th work for enough people?

Possible topics are:

Canvas
SVG
Gears
Continuing with UserScripts

Let the group know if any of these topics are interesting or feel free to  suggest a different topic.

Cheers,

Ron

I've been hacking on Google App Engine lately, if that's of interest to anyone.

"I've been hacking on Google App Engine lately, if that's of interest to anyone."

So have I. Even if nobody else is interested it is good to know of another developer in town working with this.

Google app engine would be interesting... another possibility is to
play around with Amazon's EC2. EC2 is a little different than app
engine, since you just instantiate a generic Linux box, and can do
whatever you like with it. You pay per hour of usage time. It is less
web-app specific, and would have more setup time, but can be useful in
more ways. (I was using my American VPS the other day as a proxy to
watch American IP-restricted shows on Hulu, EC2 could be easily used
for things like that).

Sounds like we have a few ideas with no clear "I want to learn _____", which is fine. Let's plan to meet at 7:30pm on the 29th and work on various ideas. Those that want to learn more about Google App Engine or Amazon's cloud offering can take advantage of some "experts" in the group and those that want to learn something else can do so.

I have some ideas for another User Script and might work on that. Although, if anyone wants to enter the world of canvas, I'd be happy to take the plunge too.
