Just a quick reminder about the Hack Night scheduled for Thursday, January 29th. We'll meet at 7:30pm at the Serious Coffee in Cook St. Village.

The topic is yet to be determined, but will be web related. Ideas put forth so far are: Google App Engine, Amazon S3, Canvas, or more User Scripts. I would also be interested in learning about how to do Flash development on Linux.

See you there,

Ron

I'll be there too. Any of the topics listed sound good to me.

In my experience, Flash development under Linux involves a lot of
swearing at Adobe's poor Linux flashplayer port, their terrible Flex
Builder Linux port, and their incorrect flashplayer Linux
documentation. The Flash CS environment isn't ported to Linux at all,
and probably never will be.

But, their free and open-source command line compiler does work
correctly on Linux, and can compile Flex or raw Actionscript code. If
you're happy working without a fancy IDE, it can work. And their Flex
Builder linux port is slowly improving.
