In my previous note on ID-3 I neglected to mention capacity of the
working solution: I have several times done up to 9 - 8X10 negatives
in 1 litre of working developer; I commonly do 5-6 5X7 + 3-4 8X10.
Anything over 10 8X10 sheets however and the developer soon shows
signs of exhaustion.

Little wonder--that seems pretty impressive capacity for one puny litre!

I haven't been doing much monochrome of late, but would like to get back
into it. Would someone see about getting the weather to behave? This
fluctuation between hot-n-humid and then howling gales is just not conducive
to heading out into the fields :}

Does anyone have recent experience in getting colour sheet film done in a
lab? ABC in Vancouver is taking way, way longer than they used to, and I
strongly suspect they're farming out the work. If they are, I'd love to know
where, so I can deal with that lab directly. Apart from that, ABC are very
nice folks, I find.

Don:
I was using ABC but heard, last year, that they sent to
CustomColor, so I started sending there. It's a bit faster, but not a
lot, it can come back in four to seven days, depending on what end of
the week you send it. I do very little colour any more, and I have
actually done my own C-41 a couple of times....
I'll see if I can do anything about the weather - I've had no
luck influencing the government which was supposedly elected by and
for the people, so I doubt the weather will pay any attention either.
Cheers

Well, that's quicker than ABC these days, which is approaching two weeks.
Next time I have some chromes, I'll give CustomColour a try. Are they about
the same for dealing with payments? With ABC, I just send the film over with
appropriate instructions, and Wendy would call when they're done and I'd
give VISA details on the phone.

As I recall, Saskatchewan farms would shake their fists at the sky after a
hailstorm, and shout "Goddam CPR!"

Don:
Yes you can do just that and give CC your VISA afterwards (or
before). If you like I can send you the address and phone and Email -
they have moved in recent years.

I think I'll have to look more closely at the CPR? Hmmm

Thanks, Jim; I'd appreciate that.

Don:
The address of CustomColor is: 1123 Venables St., Vancouver BC
V6A 2E3; phone 604-681-4680. Email: sa...@customcolorprolab.com
They are NOT open on weekends however, either Sat. or Sunday. If
you're about to send some sheets, I'd phone to let them know (or
Email) and also to give them a CC # if you want to pay that way.

Hello everyone,

I just picked up a Polaroid 545 holder. Does anyone have some outdated Polaroid Type 55 they are willing to get rid of?
