Hi folks,
My name is Alex and I'm in the same boat. Got curious about machining and metalworking a couple of years back and got hooked. Machines are pretty basic: 10x22 Craftex lathe and the ever-present BF20 / G0704 clone, this time by King. I'm in the process of converting the mill to CNC, but the birth of my second kid 5 months ago kinda put a cork into any time in the garage. Also I've been on the hunt for a small surface grinder for a while, but it seems the island is void of them...
I'm also a member of Victoria Makerspace, although I haven't been around there in a looong while. I'll post the link to this group there, there are a few machining aficionados there.

Hey Alex, welcome .. I'm pleased to see a few guys showing interest in this group. Obviously there was a mutual interest in finding the like-minded :) I too have a 15 months old and one on the way in September. I'm enjoying my last few moments in the shop before the world changes yet again :)
