[Victoria Golf Society] September Bowl – Chorley Golf Club

Sadly for the second time we arrived at the lovely Chorley Golf Club for an afternoon of rain.  However, 14 VGS golfers braved the weather and enjoyed an afternoon of slightly tighter than usual golf scoring for the September Bowl competition.  Despite aiming for the wrong flag on the 18^th, Donald McDonald came home as winner with 34 points, beating off 33s from Kevin O’Donnell (2^nd) and Peter T Watson (3^rd).  Peter T Watson and Chris Edwards then cleaned up the minor prizes, with longest drive and a 2 for Chris, and nearest the pin and a 2 for Peter.  All was finished off by a few jars in the 19^th, lots of talk of what might have been, and a sumptuous curry before leaving for home in time to see most of the England footie game.
