[Victoria Golf Society] The Hesvic at Formby Ladies Golf Club

The annual Hesvic Trophy against the Hesketh Casuals proved to be a bit of a mismatch this year, even though we thought we had one of our best teams for many a year.  Only one game was, however, won away from the 18^th, with Evan Bale and Kevin O’Donnell winning 6 and 5 in the morning, but were our only winnings all day.  That said, we lost the morning by 1 point and the afternoon by 4 points to record a sad loss by 8.5 points to 3.5 points.  The course was in terrific condition, the sun shone all day, and the hosting by Formby Ladies was fantastic as always, so not everything was negative.  Society Captain Fred called in in the afternoon to follow the team with his wrist all bandaged up, and Hesvic Captain Chris tried hard to cover our embarrassment as he handed the trophy to The Hesketh Casuals.  So, all we can say is onwards and upwards, and here’s to next year!
