Ruby in the Rain (Vancouver Ruby Conference next Saturday)

Hi Victoria Rubyists,

I just wanted to make sure you knew that Ruby in the Rain (http://rubyintherain.com), a free Ruby conference is happening next week, Saturday January 24th, in Vancouver.

We really enjoyed having some of you come over last year for Ruby Camp, and we're hoping to see you again.  We're especially hoping that you can provide a speaker or two (or four :)).

Here are the details:

The Vancouver Ruby / Rails / Merb meetup group is doing a free 1-day Ruby / Rails / Merb conference on January 24. We're calling it "Ruby in the Rain" since it's January in Vancouver. (Hopefully by then it will just be rain!) The conference is at WorkSpace (Suite 400, 21 Water Street).

If you want to attend, please sign up at http://rubyintherain.eventbrite.com/. The conference is open to everyone, not just meetup members…

There will be two tracks:

1. Scheduled talks. This is a track for talks scheduled in advance. This way, we will be able to post a schedule for one set of talks, so that you don't miss a talk you're really interested in seeing.
2. Unconference-style talks. This is a track for talks scheduled on the day of the event, similar to BarCamp.

We're in the process of figuring out the list of scheduled talks; if you want to give a scheduled talk please email Peter Armstrong at pe...@ruboss.com or Scott Patten at sc...@ruboss.com. Once the list is final I'll post it here and on the EventBrite page.

While the conference is free, the attendance is limited to 100 people, so sign up today!
