Hi I recently got terraria and play it with some of my friends by hosting a server(large World). It was working i opened the port and everything right, but about a week later it stopped working. I checked the port and it is just fine so i did some experimenting.I made a new large world and opened a server with it and it worked, and same with a medium world but then when i went back to try and host the old large world it didn't work. I can still play single player on it but not multiplayer. So if anyone can tell me how to fix this please help me because we have a big home on there with defenses and everything and we don't want to start over.209.188.66.140 05:41, September 25, 2012 (UTC)Jake
Journey Mode is unique, as the player may choose and change game difficulty whenever they wish. Journey Mode also includes additional tools such as godmode, item duplication, time and weather control, and the ability to control enemy spawns. The player must choose Journey on both the character and world creation menus to utilize it.
Mediumcore characters drop all of their items upon death, including all coins and ammo. These can be retrieved upon respawning, but any items may also be collected by other players in multiplayer and coins by enemies in Expert and Master Mode. Mediumcore characters still respawn at their spawn point, 7 / 15 (15 / 30) seconds after death on singleplayer / multiplayer, respectively.
Death causes a Hardcore character to become a Ghost that can continue to observe the world but cannot affect it. Ghosts can fly, pass through walls, and continue to chat with other multiplayer users, but cannot interact with the environment in most ways and cannot open a world.
Once a dead Hardcore character quits the current world, that character is permanently deleted. The items players placed in Chests will not be deleted, but items the character had in portable storage will be deleted.
This guide will show you how to take the files from your single player Terraria game and set them up on a Nodecraft mutiplayer Terraria server. Once installed, all of your buildings, exploration, and overall progress in the world will be available for you and your friends to join and continue.
Open the worlds folder and upload the zip file. You can either use the drag-and-drop feature in the File Manager of the Nodecraft control panel, or you can use an FTP program to move the files to the server.
We founded Nodecraft with a mission to make multiplayer gaming easier for player-owned game servers. We promise to serve gamers with the best quality service, real customer support, & innovation above all else.
Terraria is a popular sandbox adventure game developed by Re-Logic. It was first released in 2011 and has since gained a massive following due to its unique blend of exploration, building, crafting, and action-packed gameplay.
2D Sandbox World: Terraria takes place in a 2D pixel-art world filled with various biomes, creatures, and resources. The game world is randomly generated, providing a unique experience each time you start a new game.
Exploration: Players are encouraged to explore the vast world, which is teeming with underground caves, dungeons, floating islands, and more. Each area offers its own challenges and rewards.
Building and Construction: Terraria allows players to build and customize their own structures and creations using a wide range of building materials and tools. This building aspect of the game has drawn comparisons to games like Minecraft.
Crafting and Items: The game features an extensive crafting system, where players can combine various resources and items to create weapons, armor, potions, and other useful tools. There are hundreds of different items to discover and craft.
Combat and Boss Battles: Terraria offers a variety of weapons and combat mechanics to take on various enemies, including boss creatures with unique abilities. Defeating bosses often leads to progression and unlocks new content.
Multiplayer: Terraria supports multiplayer gameplay, allowing players to team up with friends to explore, build, and fight together. This adds a cooperative aspect to the game, enhancing the overall experience.
But the idea of an "impossible challenge" hasn't stopped Wild lmao. Since November, this YouTuber has been running a video series documenting the journey to defeat a Terraria world using the Hero's Mod to make 30 times more mobs than usual spawn. On top of that, the challenge is played on master mode, which gives most enemies triple their normal health and damage, and it's in hardcore, which means all deaths are permanent.
That means you have to play very, very cautiously, and if you want to make any progress, you need some extreme knowledge of Terraria's most arcane systems. You won't see much progress in the first video, but you will see a lot of lessons learned. With 30x enemy spawns, the few inconsequential slimes that normally greet you in a new world quickly transform into a deadly swarm.
Wild lmao's first instinct is to just build a tall platform where the slimes can't reach, but that doesn't really work - not least because it's nearly impossible to get back down with a legion of angry slimes waiting. So after the first death, the strategy pretty quickly switches to quickly building a semi-underground house with little traps on the side that can capture enemies and let them easily be farmed for loot drops.
But given the sheer volume of enemies spawning, things get weird here and there - like the way mobs will occasionally just slip through one tile walls as if they're not even there. But it's also the ultimate way to test your Terraria knowledge, and as Wild lmao says, "I'm like the best player in the game so it should be pretty easy."
"Easy" is probably overselling it, but there are ways to mitigate the challenge, like with goldfish. There's an upper limit to the number of mobs that can be spawned in at once, so if you capture and drop a bunch of animals around, you can mitigate some spawns - as long as you get your animals out before the monsters appear.
I won't spoil everything here - the videos themselves are very entertaining and well worth your time - but I've gotta say that I'm absolutely in awe of the Eater of Worlds kill that ends the most recent episode. This challenge is truly breaking Terraria and I'm here for it.

Multiplayer is a game mode in which Terraria can be played with or against other remote players online. Multiplayer worlds are cooperative by default, with player versus player (PvP) available for activation once multiplayer is entered.
Player versus player (PvP) is a multiplayer mode that allows players, or teams of players, to attack each other. PvP is activated by joining a multiplayer world and enabling the PvP toggle by clicking on the crossed swords near the armor and accessory slots / pressing the crossed swords button in the PvP menu found in the inventory. On the Desktop version and Mobile version, the only way a player can damage another player is if both players have the PvP option enabled, or through traps such as Boulders, Land Mines, or lava.
There is also the option of joining a team by selecting one of the colored shield toggles near the armor and accessory slots / in the PvP menu. Once a team is selected, there is an on-screen display providing information about the distance (and direction) and health of the teammates. PvP players on the same team can see each other on the minimap, while other PvP players cannot. There are five different teams available: red, green, blue, yellow, and pink. Selecting the white shield removes the player from their current team.
(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) If a player has equipped or is holding an informational item such as the PDA, any teammates standing within 50 tiles of them can also see the data readout from it. Furthermore, teammates within 50 tiles also receive the player's accessory luck increase. The luck increase does not stack, however.[1]
PvP players can play Capture the Gem, which operates similarly to Capture the Flag. Capture the Gem requires Large Gems, one for each team, which can be crafted using 15 Amethyst, Topaz, Sapphire, Emerald, Ruby, Amber, or Diamond. Teams attempt to steal the opposing team's gem and bring it back to their own base. Large Gems display as hovering graphics over any player carrying one, and always drop next to killed players, regardless of their character's difficulty setting.
