Hello everyone,
I am a new member to flickr and this group.
I have been using photoscape for a few months but was wondering if anyone has come across a way to drop shadows in their photos and graphics?
I know the text tool has shadows but I can't seem to find a one for normal images.
Thank you.

PhotoScape X Pro 2.4.1 x64 Win 4.0 Mac

Download File ☆☆☆ https://t.co/DrHP0lM24y

Hello everyone, I am new to Linux, finally got tired of MS extortion practices.
My first computer was an IBM, DOS, 256 kb HD. Because of that foundation using the terminal is not that foreign to me.
I am running Ubuntu 18.04.2LTS, i5-4210CPU,16MB RAM, 208GB HD.
I have always used Photoscape (WIN7 & 10) so I downloaded it via the instructions
sudo apt update
sudo apt install snapd
sudo snap install photoscape
The problem I am having is getting it to run. It is on my desktop, when I open it there is a wheel spinning on the mouse pointer ( which I assume means it is loading) but nothing appears to work with.
When I open Task Manager I do not see photoscape (if that is how it would be listed)
What have I not done/not done so that the program is useable?
Have no idea which group to address this to.
Thanks

Be careful of any sponsored links (ads) on this page, advertising PhotoScape. Many imposter download sites can install malware and adware on your computer or try to charge a fee to download. The download is safe and free when you use the "Publisher's Site" link below or go directly to photoscape.org.

Photoscape is an all-in-one photo software that lets you fix, arrange, and enhance your photos. It includes a wide range of tools, including a viewer/editor, batch renamer, RAW format converter, animated GIF maker, collage generator, paper print, splitter, contact sheet, and more. Includes a meta-data viewer for camera model, software version, DPI, etc. and file renamer that lets you for example change file names to the date the camera gave them. A "Paper Print" feature even lets you print out customizable lined, graph, or various different calendar/planning documents.

Note:

  • v3.4 is the last portable version. Later versions are adware and write settings to the AppData folder, but a method is available to make it portable.
  • The program has an update check nag screen. If you know how to disable this, please post in forums.

Every few months I discover something new and cool with this program. Animated GIF tricks, photo edit functions, framing tricks, and photo collages. Today it was dragging and dropping an image onto the program icon and seeing the wealth of edition, annotation, and symbol tools available.

Although I've moved over to freeware options for most things I do, I've maintained use of Microsoft Photo Manager for years when working on my own photo collection. Today however, I was on a machine without it so I got PhotoScape up and found I actually prefer it.

quote @tc: You can stop the intro photo by editing photoscape.cfg, and turning intro.photoOn from on to off. You could also edit the url, to point to a local image

I installed on USB with 7zip.
In addition to tc's message: if you make photoscape.cfg read-only, it will keep it's settings in the cfg file.

I also deleted the plugins dir (unwanted toolbar in there), and renamed the file PSMsgHook.dll in the main folder to PSMsgHook.dllold.

The current version of Photoscape is 3.6.2. The program can be extracted with 7zip, but the settings are in
\Documents and Settings\USER\Application Data\PhotoScape\
which means that it's not portable.

@pip: well it seems to me that you are the one that is uninformed because firewalls only stop internet connections they don't stop any kind of virus (other than a worm) so downloading a different firewall is almost point less and a waste of computer.

Trust me theres stuff in windows firewall that you don't know about.
why? cause you never looked.

NOTE: also if I remember right windows firewall was on a 1 of top 5. So no windows firewall don't sux that bad especially when you got to add the port manually unlike others where it just asks to add a program and your done.

To Frank T.:
I have used version 3.4, and now version 3.5, from a USB-stick quite often.
I have never not got any files on my computer.
Are you sure you have followed the instructions above on how to extract? (You have to extract the downloaded exe-file.)

Portable? I installed v. 3.5 (moste recent one) and got these files:

c:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\PhotoScape\photoscape.cfg
c:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\PhotoScape\phoobj.cfg
c:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\PhotoScape\favorite.lst

Very nice software. Try also WEgif Photo Animator Software. Want to do more with your digital camera? WEgif create, view and share animated pictures. Auto align images, animate.
Gif Photo Animation

Umm, I followed the instructions to extract with Universal extractor, but like CC, I have no NSIS.nsi file anywhere? I ran the program in sandboxie and it is stealth enough. It writes to the appdata folder in vista and also makes entries to the registry. Am I doing something wrong? Any insights?

Any auto-download like that Flickr pic can be stopped easily with a proper, fully configurable firewall which everyone should be using if they use the 'net. Sounds like most of you uninformed peopleBT7 are relying on the Windows Firewall for protection - not a good idea.

I agree with Guy. When you double-click "PhotoScapeSetup_V3.2.exe" to run the installer, no "$PLUGINSDIR" is created. Nor is there "$TEMP" or "[NSIS].nsi" in the location where the files were extracted to. However, if you use UniversalInstaller to extract the files, "$PLUGINSDIR" and "$TEMP" are in the folder, but "[NSIS].nsi" is not. So my question is where/how do you find "[NSIS].nsi"?

Guy Noben, after extracting the installer file, open the folder wherever you extracted it, and there is a folder called "$PLUGINSDIR". Just delete that folder. If you don't know how to use windows explorer, then I can't help you.

Although this program appears to be a little light on features compared to other available programs (notably Google's non-portable "Picassa" or Portable GIMP) some of its functions are so simple and easy, its indispensable. Its photo arrangement and easy animation tools are clean, simple, and great.

If you enable cache database, it puts a cache database for each directory you view in Photoscape. Also, you can not turn off the download of a intro.jpg image from Flickr into the application's directory everytime you start the app. Although if you make the intro.jpg file "Read Only" it prevents the overwriting - this may save some write-cycles on your USB flash drive.
