Hi Frederick,

Please note that this level of question is only supported through our Vicon Authorized Dealer program. Below is some information from our knowledge base. If any further support is required we will need to know your Vicon account number. If you are not currently Vicon authorized you will be referred to a service provider.

POSSIBLE CAUSES:

1:  This may have occurred after an upgrade on the workstation that did not go well. The original storage database was not identified and upgraded during the upgrade. ViconNet checks to see if the storage db belongs to it nucleus.

2:  Settings in ViconNet was copied from one machine to another, resulting in a SITE ID mismatch between ViconNet and the storage drives. ( see details below )

3:  Settings was deleted in Viconnet, creating mismatch in SITE ID ( see details below )

Fix: Go into your DB folder ( ie c:\ViconNet\VNData\DB\AVDB\, look for a “storecfg.vsb” file and delete it, open the storecfg.txt file and delete ONLY the first two lines which include “[Assistant Site ID]” and its number & save the changes to the file. Also sometimes the viconnet system saves the configuration in a settings back up folder so if you have multiple drives, check those locations as well for the same file and make the appropriate changes. Once restarted the issue should be resolved.

Subject: Vicon Help Forum Storage Error

I am using a Vicon VMDC software version 6.6 and am getting a Storage Error 4017: Main DB disk belongs to another site.  Could you tell me what could be causing this error.

Hi Team,

I tried to apply this solution to my own issue, but it didn't work.
The error i am getting is "Storage Database is inaccessible".  I reinstalled ViconNet 7 on a new server as the nucleus, when the old server crashed. I have saved backup configuration of the old server, so I restored the settings into the new installation, and Re-registered the server with Vicon team.

The storage drives of the servers are different, but I knew i will have to modify the location in the Storage Database Utilities.  But now i can't access that interface.

Did i do anything wrong following the process to revive my services ???  Can you help with the fix to this issue?

Please revert.

Thanks.

Hello,

This is not something we can assist with through this forum. What you can do is either contact Vicon tech support through an authorized dealer or remove the settings (delete VNData folder and VNBackup folder from lat drive) to reset your settings and define manually.
