Hi Everyone, Hope you all are enjoying your summer...I sure am!
My question is: Was it on this discussion group I read something about
the negative issues with root canals? And what if the dentist is
recommending one? I need to know of an alternative. I remember I read
something about it and don't remember where it was....I finally
thought it might be here.
This is all for my hubby....he just had a deep cleaning and his teeth
are sensitive now. I have some ideas but wanted to run it by my
Vibrant Health people. Also, he was given this treatment "stuff" to do
which I was opposed to, Flouride whatever! And now he has blisters on
his uvula, throat and tongue!!!!! He did decided he would stop that
and that he had an allergic reaction to it. I have him gargling
echinacea and super garlic immune every two hours. Previously I have
had him treating his gum issues with the x-ceptic formula two times a
day and this was helping with the gum issues.
Toothpowder is an option and I think this formula is very good.
Any ideas from my fellow herbalists will be greatly appreciated....
(",)Blessings,
Guylene

My mom sent me this link
http://www.tennantinstitute.com/TIIM_MAC/Welcome.html and on it, they talk
about root canals. A good point is brought up- no other medical procedure
includes killing tissue and leaving it in the body! Teeth are alive. That
site also talks about fluoride.

Anyway, the teeth are connected to other parts of the body too. There is a
chart you can see about that also on the website. I am not so sure that
"deep cleaning" is such a good idea. My teeth are sensitive too but a bit of
toothpowder and they usually feel much better shortly after a cleaning.

Jurrasic Greens on the teeth has helped me with sore teeth.

Does that help?
Marisa

Thanks Marisa...
The web site looks very interesting (will read all at a later time).
And I have known about fluoride since the 70's!
I agree with you on the deep cleaning but my hubby has had to learn
from his own experience, if you know what I mean. And he is....he will
be questioning anything else the dentist may just want to do.

I just found a holistic dentist that I plan on using. I am sure my
hubby will want to change over also. I have also heard of a Biologic -
dentist, but none are close to me. Like 80 miles away in Los Angeles.
I have a friend that goes to this one and he even does a meditation
with his client before working on them and is very conscious of the
teeth as a living organism! He ended up needing to remove a tooth and
was supportive of my friend because she didn't want to take
antibiotics. She used Dr Cs formulas etc.

Never heard of using Jurassic Green on teeth! But wow, I am sure it
works.
Thanks again,
Guylene

Guylene..
I went thru an infection inside a tooth near the root, that needed a root canal. It was not done.
This is what I did. It took a long time, and my concern was trying to deal with pain while trying to
prevent a root canal.   I did allow x-rays, to diagnose but refused the root canal.

Pain was intolerable , and could not chew, use pressure, etc,

I used bruised plantain leaf around the tooth.

Dr. Christopher's Tooth Formula did not help , but when I combined it with Dr. Shillington's Tooth and Gum Formula, it worked wonders.. I would lightly wet  a soft children's toothbrush( due to sensitivity) with Dr. C's formula and then take 2 drops of Dr. Shillington's Tooth and Gum formula(purchased at Organic Solutions) and lightly brush teeth, and put on my gums.  This was done 5 times a day.  Dr. Shillington's Tooth and Gum Formula has Echinacea , tea tree oil, bayberry , oak bark, cayenne, peppermint oil and clove oil as the ingredients.  Dr. Shulze has a formula almost identical that is minus the clove oil.

Used X-Ceptic  in a water pik, many times a day.

Also, not a herbal remedy, but had a separate water pik and used pure Colloidal Silver, luke warm water and food grade hydrogen peroxide once a day.

I alternated with herbs that helped fight infection, like Echinacea, Garlic, Sage, etc.

warm and cold compresses, alternating on face, where the tooth problem was.

I did not use this , but my friend suggested homeopathic silica .

I did not use this either, but someone suggested I use DMSO soaked in cotton and put on the
area for 15 minutes, for the pain. I would imagine this would also help the inflammation.

Astragalus tincture twice daily for boosting immune system.

I  read somewhere in my studies that if you have any teeth extracted  and have to go on any
sedatives, most import thing to do after is a liver cleanse.  Now that I think of it, it was David that I believe said this.  Also a complete body cleanse is the best.

Of course, diet was an important factor in my healing.

Used palm healing on  face area when I could.  It was unbelievable how hot the palm became when I took it off my face

When I was macrobiotic, I was taught that teeth were related to the kidneys.

I hope this helps some.

I don't know if this will help or not, but my daughter did not want to
get her wisdom teeth out. As they were growing in, she found that
swishing molasses helped releaved the pain. I found it interesting
that molasses is high in calcuim. It should be unsulfered molasses.

Jill,
Thanks for sharing about molasses. I just yesterday was looking up
herbs and foods high in magnesium and molasses was one of them. I did
know that is was a good source of calcium. Good to know it can help
with relieving tooth pain. And I would take a guess that it might just
help with sensitive teeth.
Thanks and Blessings,
Guylene
