RTÉ today announced Hugh Wallace's replacement on The Great House Revival, following the celebrity architect's tragic passing.
Posting to Instagram, they revealed that Hugh Wallace's 'dear friend' Brendan Courtney would fill his shoes for the final episodes:
"Following Hugh Wallace's passing, his dear friend Brendan Courtney will help complete some remaining filming on the upcoming series of GreatHouseRevival.
"In the series, Brendan will meet some of the homeowners who’ve just completed their restorations and celebrate Hugh’s passion for heritage, homes and the stories behind them."
Earlier this month, it was announced that, with the full support of his family, RTÉ would proceed with the broadcast of the new series of Home of the Year and The Great House Revival.
Airing this Spring, The Great House Revival will honour Hugh’s remarkable dedication, passion, vibrant spirit, and enduring love for design and architecture.
RTÉ Managing Editor, Video, Seán Mac Giolla Phadráig said: "Hugh had such an enormous place in the hearts of our audience who loved him dearly. We’re very grateful to his family and colleagues for allowing us to show Hugh in these final series, which showcase his love for architecture and passion for the work he did across both Home of the Year and The Great House Revival. We miss him greatly. Ní bheidh a leithéid ann arís."
Meanwhile, now in its 12th series, Home of the Year will air on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player, starting in early March. Filming was completed before Hugh's death in December of 2025.
