With the latest version of Dimension installed, go ahead and create a new scene. In the project settings, input your document dimensions. I've opted to set mine at 3000 x 2250px to get a nice, high-res image.

Now that our scene is set, we are ready to begin creating our 3D text extrusion. From the objects tab, drag a new Text Extrusion object onto your scene. You can now see with the default settings that our text object already has 3D dimensionality to it.

I would really appreciate any help. New to blender. I am trying to make a 3d model in blender then export as obj to take into Adobe Dimension. I have been trying for days and everything I make that I render in Dimension is black. My guess is the UV on my models. Pre made items like the monkey or far left tube with the top taken off work. but not the 2 center things i made using the circle mesh. Also I noticed the inside of the far left tube is always rendered black on the inside. I can also import other obj from online, add sub surface to smooth and then into dimension and it is fine. Any insight into what I need to change on my model to render correctly would be amazing. Thank you.

Hello, I have experimented a bit and I found a way to solve this problem. From adobe Dimension, I export it as a .GLB. From there I take this .GLB and open it in Paint 3D. In Paint 3D, I export it as an .FBX. This is an importable format for unity, this can be dragged into the unity assets. Once inside go to the materials tab and click extract materials. Then you can switch to use external materials. This allows unity to find all of these materials and textures and also allows you to edit them.

Ive been building shapr3d models for grocery packaging andkeep getting strange uv artifacts when I place graphics on the .obj models. In dimensions I generate new uvs but they come out messy. This is a simple carton with a window. How can I avois this happening? Or fix it after the fact?

Ok, how would I do that? Im very new to 3d design. Im using shapr 3d to create the models and Substance dimensions and stager to add materials, decals and render them out. Would appreciate your guidance.

Three-dimensional design has become an unstoppable force in the design world. Rather than limiting compositions to two dimensions, designers are stepping out of their comfort zones and bringing life to flat designs. Producing designs in 3D also helps clients to visualize how a product may look in reality.

An integral part of branding is designing a realistic product mockup to present to clients. While many designers create two-dimensional mockups for most applications, presenting a specific product in a three-dimensional space sets your mockup design apart from others.

If you prefer a more precise method of setting height and width values, head over to the Properties panel to adjust the canvas size, units, and resolution. Denote your preferred units, then type in the height and width values under Canvas Size. Activate the lock icon to constrain values; leave the icon unlocked to enter in custom dimensions. Set the resolution to 72 or 150 PPI for web use.

In three-dimensional space, you need a horizon line to determine how objects recede in space. Dimension features a few tools that help you pinpoint the angles in your environment. Denoted by a rotation symbol, the Orbit Tool (1) allows you to move the camera angle around three-dimensionally.

Browse through the library of models, then click and drag a specific model onto the canvas. I am starting off with the Tall Box, then customizing the dimensions and position. The Select and Rotate Tool (R) rotates the object on the X, Y, and Z axes. The red arrow rotates along the X axis, the blue arrow along the Y axis, and the green arrow along the Z axis.
