Hey guys, so I recently made a switch from Windows to a MacBook for college and not having Wallpaper Engine supporting macOS is a huge loss for me. I recently found a program called Mach Desktop which has similar functions as Wallpaper Engine does but for MacOS and allows you to upload a video file to your desktop. Since I forgot to transfer all of my saved wallpapers from my Windows computer and can't download wallpapers from Steam Workshop via Wallpaper Engine (due to not supporting macOS) is there any other way I can download those wallpapers directly from the Workshop? If not, are there any recommended animated wallpaper websites with 4k or 1080 animated wallpapers? Thanks for your input!

When purchasing content through the Steam Store, your purchase is initially added to your Steam Inventory. This content will not be applied in to your game until the content is 'consumed' when booting Sea of Thieves.

But on occasions this can take a few attempts to be 'consumed'. If this occurs please attempt booting the game and progressing past the 'Push Start' screen a couple of times to see whether that solves your issue.

It may also be worth attempting to reverify the integrity of your game files to see whether that will allow the items to be consumed. To do this, right click Sea of Thieves from your games list in Steam and select Properties. Then from the properties menu select Local Files> Verify Integrity of local files. Once complete, just boot Sea of Thieves again

If the items remain in your inventory please contact for further assistance with your issue.

After purchasing premium content such as Ancient Coins or the available bundles which are on offer throughout the various online stores, on rare occasions you may not receive your item(s) after a 72 hour wait.

This can happen for a variety of reasons but below are steps in which you can use in an attempt to either fix or prevent these issues from happening for yourself.

Reset Sea of Thieves (Steam)
1.
From Steam, right click Sea of Thieves in your games list
2. Select Properties from the context menu
3. Click Local Files
4. Select 'Verify Integrity of Game Files...'

Please see our article for the process for completing purchases through the Steam Store.

Please Note: Any items purchased from the Emporium when in-game cannot be added to your inventory until you reboot Sea of Thieves. This is due to the 'consumption' process which is highlighted in the linked article in this section.

If you have purchased a DLC bundle from a retail store and have not received your items in-game on Steam, please try and load the Microsoft Store / Game Pass version where any missing items will be granted to your account. All items should be claimable via a promotional code on your receipt, so if you are missing the promotional code for any of your items, please return to the retailer who sold you the bundle for further assistance into the missing items.

Selecting 'Yes, Link Accounts' will confirm that you wish to link your Xbox Live accounts and Steam profile. If the wrong accounts are being linked, click Shift+Tab to close the Steam Overlay then from the Main Menu either click 'Sign Out' from the bottom of the screen or press the X key. Once signed out you will return to the 'Start Game' screen where you can proceed through this process again.

This action can be completed when at either the 'Start Game' screen or Main Menu. Simply clicking 'Sign Out' from these screens (or pressing the X key in the main menu) will prompt you whether you wish to sign out of Xbox Live. Clicking Yes will complete the unlinking process and return you to the 'Start Game' screen where you can sign in to another account.

You can also link your Xbox Live account and Steam Profile through the Xbox Game bar or Xbox app. To do this please follow the Link your social network accounts to Xbox from Xbox support article and scroll down to the 'Link your Xbox Game Bar, Game App or game purchased on Steam' section.

After purchasing a Bundle or Ancient Coins through the Sea of Thieves Store within Steam, your purchases are initially added to your Steam Inventory. To then apply these purchases to your profile you simply need to boot Sea of Thieves where they will be 'consumed'. After this, all contents will be made available in-game and also the purchase will then be removed from your inventory.

When your graphics drivers are either not up to date or suffering from some form of corruption, this can also cause the crash while booting. We recommend that when trying this step that you completely remove you old drivers before updating to the latest versions. To remove your old drivers and then update to the latest:

We are currently investigating some compatibility issues with specific anti-virus products which are flagging the sotgame.exe as potentially harmful. Until we can resolve this issue you may want to whitelist the game within your anti-virus product. The default install location for the game is here:

C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\Sea of Thieves\\Athena\\Binaries\\Win64\\sotgame.exe

If you are unsure on how to complete the whitelisting process we have included guides for the most popular products below:

AVG

It should print out several lines. You can copy the Installation Location value from the start of C:\\ to the end of the line by highlighting it with your mouse and then right-clicking in the window to copy it. You can then paste this into the Open Dialog by pressing in the text field at the bottom and pressing Ctrl+V then pressing Enter. From here you should navigate by double-clicking the folders for Binaries then UWP64, then finally selecting SotGame.exe, which is the executable you need to whitelist.

3. Click Retry in the store à This should now succeed

Generally, Wallpaper Engine does not support editing downloaded wallpapers itself. However, it is usually possible to edit wallpapers depending on their type (you can find the type below the preview image on the right) with the help of third-party applications.

Please always keep in mind that you may need the rights from the original author(s) in order to re-publish their work. When in doubt, contact the original authors before publishing it to the Steam Workshop.

Scene wallpapers are packed into a .pkg file which is not editable out of the box because it is missing all project-related data. Trying to open a .pkg file will result in the error "Packed wallpapers cannot be opened." to be shown. An analogy would be that .jpeg image files also do not come with Photoshop project data attached - this is always left on the system of the original author.

However, community members have created an unofficial scene wallpaper unpacking tool, which allows you to unpack Scene files and use them as a starting point for your own wallpapers. See this website for more information:

If you want to edit one of your own wallpapers that you have previously lost the project files for, see the Updating a lost project section below for more infos on what changes you need to make to the project.json so that you can push updates to your existing wallpapers.

Generally, application wallpapers cannot be edited. Application wallpapers are usually compiled programs which means you do not have access to the source code. If you really want to change application-based wallpapers, try contacting the author of the wallpaper and see if they are willing to help.

The Wagner 725 Wallpaper Steamer is great for removing wallpaper without using any harsh chemicals. Use this chemical free steamer to quickly and effectively remove every inch of outdated wallpaper in your home.

Some wallpapers, particularly the foil and water-resistant types, are strong and made with glues that easily release when they are pulled away from the wall. Before you begin the more difficult processes described below, start at a corner or seam and try peeling the wallpaper away from the surface. If it releases without tearing the underlying drywall paper or leaving swaths of backing behind, you may not have to steam or use a solvent. And even if remnants cling to the walls, after most of the paper is pulled down, you may be able to simply scrape them off without resorting to more drastic removal measures.

You can rent a commercial wallpaper steamer as an alternative to solvents. Steamers are especially good at removing stiff, heavy, old-style wallpapers and papers that have been adhered for a very long time.
