I did a clean install of Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit in order to upgrade from Vista. The onscreen sound icon now appears, and I can adjust the volume from my keyboard or on-screen, but the phsical volume control buttons and mute button on the right side (facing monitor) and home button (front of monitor) no longer work. There are many posts about the on screen sound not appearing or keyboard volume buttons not working after a windows 7 upgrade, but this is not that issue. I have allowed device manager to search and install the audio drivers, but no luck.
I have downloaded and installed the two drivers recommended and re-started the machine, but there is no change in behavior. I recently upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 Ultimate. I don't think it's a hardware issue becase the buttons (Vol +, Vol - and Mute) worked immediately before the clean install of Win 7.
I have a HP Touchsmart 600-1152 running Windows 10 Pro licesned. I7 Q720 Nvidia Geforce GT 230 Nextwindow 1950 6 gigs of ram 1TB WD Primary Hard Drive. Clean Install everything works fine no connectivity issues.
My problem is the ACPI and OSD drivers for the Volume +/- on the side of the computer and the home button on the front of it. Niether of them work. the volume buttons on the keyboard work the function keys on the key board work the touch screen works. Just those buttons dont.
The touch-buttons have memory registers associated with them that become unresponsive (or latched) due to static charge/discharge from "touching", and don't loose their charge until all power sources have been removed.
Thanks for the reply and trying the suggested steps. I checked the drivers for your computer and the last drivers available is for Windows 7. Drivers for Windows 8 and 10 are not available for this model.
Bought my versa around Oct 2019. Used to work well but now the touch doesn't work, i cant pass the password screen. I only see time and call notifications only i tried both android and ios but the issue is the same.
@Majesta01, welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm happy to assist you with your Fitbit Versa 2 since the touch screen stopped working properly. Thank you for troubleshooting this issue before contacting our forums.
I've got the exact same issue. Touchscreen gets unresponsive and swipe/tap actions doesn't work. Sometimes it helps to reboot the watch (hold down button), but not always. And sometimes it just starts to work again without reboot. This needs to be fixed asap if this is a software issue with the latest update!
I am having the same issue. My Fitbit Versa 2 is just over one month old. The touch screen does not respond most of the time. I would return it, but I had a 30-day return policy and I am just over that now. I have tried restarting it. My clock face is developed by Fitbit. I would rather not do a factory reset, but it is hard to even get there if the touch screen is not working. Help, please!
This is definitely NOT resolved. I got my fitbit versa 2 for Christmas. It worked fine for a while and now the touch screen is unresponsive most of the time. The button frequently doesn't work either. This needs to be fixed ASAP. I am out of warranty and cannot return it.
Hey, wanted to let you know I had the same issue as everyone else. Bought in November 2019 and it started doing this about a month later but it has now got to a point where I can't even use the watch. It's April 2020. I sent a direct message on support live chat and after troubleshooting with no improvements they determined I was eligible for a replacement. It may depend on where you bought the watch. Mine came from the Fitbit website.
Forgot PIN or pattern
As a security measure, if you forgot the pattern to unlock your device or your PIN is not working, you will need to reset your device. However, if you forgot or are unsure about your Google password, but you remember your Gmail / Google account name, you can use a computer to access the Gmail account and Gmail will send a link to reset your account password to another one of your email accounts.
You can enable your device to only display a certain app screen while Screen pinning is in use. Screen pinning can be useful if you want to play a game without accidentally minimizing the app if you touch the Home button.
This option will automatically lock the device when the display is on and the power button is pressed. The Power button instantly locks option will only show after a screen lock option (other than Slide) has been set.
To activate the Power button instantly locks setting, go to Settings > Security & Screen Lock > select Power button instantly locks.

I am using Windows 7 professional 64 bit on a desktop. I have a Microsoft Sidewinder X4 keyboard. Its has volume buttons for volume up/down and mute. I can confirm that the buttons physically work. I can change volume just fine in my Ubuntu partition. Why do my volume buttons on my Microsoft keyboard not work under Windows?
As for your question, there's a answer here (by William.Wade.II) suggesting that the HID service may not be running. Open the control panel, Administrative Tools, Services and look for Human Interface Device Access. If not running, click "start" and see if that makes the buttons start working. If it does, right click the list item and click properties, and change startup type to automatic.
