Not possible to render texture on LiVi image in Vi-Suite 0.6

Hi Ryan,

I am trying to follow your video tutorials from Vi-Suite v0.4 regarding Radiance Patterns and Radiance Textures for rendering textures in the LiVi image. I am using Vi-Suite v0.6 but the steps should be the same. However, it is not working and I am trying to figure out why. Thus, I would appreciate if you or someone else could give me some help here on what I might be doing wrong.

I'll say it again, and hopefully for the last time, you need to follow the instructions in the v0.6 user manual.

Ok, thanks a lot. For some reason, I was confused that you were meaning the Radiance manual and not the vi-suite v0.6 manual (which I was not aware that it was available). Anyways, after looking in the right documentation I've managed to make it work (I had to uncheck the Fallback option in LiVi Geometry).

Hi Ryan,

Well apparently I am still missing something. While in the simple case scenario that I am showing above with the cube I am able to render the texture in the LiVi image:

In a more complex scene that I have the texture is still doesn't show up in the rendered image:

Based on the manual, I think that I've set all the settings as they are described in the "Radiance Patterns & Textures" section. The only difference I can see is on the Normal setting but if I compare with the corresponding shader node with the one in the manual they seem correct:

but even if I remove the normal map and set it to default I still do not get the texture in the rendered image.

Any idea what I might missing here?

There looks like a difference between the two scenarios in terms of the Radiance materials you are applying the patterns to.

Yup, that was it (facepalm emoji). The material was set from the previous experiment to "Light sensor" while it should be on "Geometry".

Hi Ryan,

One more question in the LiVi image I am using the "Low" setting for the accuracy however what I've noticed is that the quality of the preview image with the rendered .hdr image are different, see below (preview on the left, rendered liviimage on the right):

is there an explanation for that? I would expect the rendered image to be at least the same quality as the preview image.
