Good morning/evening!
I am using blender 4.4.3 on windows 11 and have installed docker desktop and have ran dicehub openfoam 12 while keeping docker desktop window open.

I tried following the manual steps but once I reached netgen and clicking generate blender crashes.

Regards,
Yusuf

Oh. That doesn't sound good. Can you run Blender from Powershell and post any messages? Also a screenshot of docker desktop containers page and the blend file if it is not too large. Are you using the latest beta?
Cheers

I ran blender from powershell then when I opened my latest flo-vi test file from there blender crashed and I don't see any messages on my windows powershell.
Here is my docker desktop containers page and the blender fiel:Screenshot 2025-11-09 170130.png

Works fine on my windows machine: blender 4.4 with beta7 and blender 4.5 with master. Without any error messages I can't really debug.
No need to keep posting the same message. I moderate posts.

Is this what you meant by error messages?

No. I mean the  messages in the powershell  that you run Blender from when Blender crashes.

Alright. I really apologize for wasting your time but I decided to do everything from zero on another laptop.
I started by downloading blender 4.4.3
Then downloading docker desktop for windows
Then on the desktop app I went to the search bar on the top and searched for dicehub and found dicehub/openfoam
and on the tag option I changed it from dev to 12 and clicked on run.
After that I got optional settings with things showing like no ports in this image and volumes and environment variable but I just clicked on run.
I finally got a screen in the containers tab supposedly the logs which displays: /bin/bash: -c: option requires an argument.  And when I click on run It just stops immediately.

Is there any problem here uptill now or is this all expected?
Also is it ok to try installing openfoam12 from somewhere else other than dicehub, or from dicehub version 11, or even not from the docker desktop but rather from another way maybe?

Hope you help as I'm not into terminals and coding related stuff.
Thanks in advance!

Oh! Finally worked! I have played with deleting docker desktop containers and images and also installed the vi suite 7 master from github and on blender 4.5.0 this time and finally It worked!
For the record:
Blender 4.5.0
VI-suite v7 master (downloaded from github)
Container is running and of an image which is dicehub/openfoam with tag 12

( installed via powershell after opening docker desktop minimized and from the powershell used docker pull openfoam/openfoam11-paraview510 for pulling openfoam 11 from openfoam foundation then typed docker run --rm -it --entrypoint /bin/bash dicehub/openfoam:12 and so openfoam 12 from dicehub then finally till I got green text with openfoam@7566474590c2:~$ and when opening containers I saw one running and in images dicehub/openfoam 12 is the one being active out of the two (it and the openfoam/openfoam))

That was a long technical journey for me as a surface level gui person who is not into coding, terminals, directories, etc... Hope this helps anyone facing this issue and hopefully won't happen with the audience of my upcoming university workshop God willing!

Just a note for everybody. Command line gymnastics should not be required. Simply having a dicehub openfoam 11 or 12 container in a running Docker Desktop is enough.
Not sure what was causing Blender to crash in this instance.
Cheers
