SUCCESSFUL PROTEST ON 2ND FEBRUARY, 2011.



There was a protest called by all the residents of MOGAPPAIR West
and NOLAMBUR TNHB area agitating against the poor civic amenities
provided by AMBATTUR MUNICIPALITY and NOLAMBUR Town Panchayat.

All the 8 blocks of Mogappair Residents have initiated this Agitation
which was ably supported by FONRA – Federation of Nolambur
Residents Association. Though our association has received a late call
on this matter , we did participate in good numbers with the
Association Office bearers leading from the front.

A Human Chain was formed by all residents starting from Mogappair west
Bus Stand extending up to Wavin and Vijaya bank - HDFC Bank junction.
This agitation started at 09.00 a.m went on for more than an hour by
shouting SLOGANS and Calling for attention of the Governing Body and
civil servants.

By 10.30 a.m this protest turned out to be a '' ROAD BLOCKING DHARNA
'' at Wavin junction. Earlier, the public took on a march to Wavin
since no official came to hear our voices.
This dharna went on till 01.30 p.m demanding intervention of nobody
less than the District Collector, though several police officers tried
to pacify the agitating Public by consoling them.

All vehicular traffic was totally diverted during this Dharna which
has become a huge success. Media persons covered this event right from
the beginning till end. There is a general impression that such a huge
protest was never witnessed in the past 15 years in any of the near by
locality, and this stood testimony to THE UNITY of the aggrieved
public against negligence of the CIVIC AUTHORITY in our residential
areas.
