Eighth Annual General Body Meeting of V.G.N.Nagar Residents Welfare
Assocition
held on 26-09-2010 at Mahatma Gandhi Park, V.G.N.Nagar,Phase I,
Nolambur.
The Meeting started with recital of 'Tamizh Thai Vazhthu' at 4-15 P.M.
The Vice-President Thru. T.MohanKrishnaKumar welcomed the gathering
and
informed them that Thiru.D.Kamalakannan,Founder President and Advisor
of our
Association is taking up all the Issues practically in person since
all other Office Bearers
are fully engaged on their Official works and are unable to spare
sufficient time for the
Association works for meeting the authorities on the matters--
Mr.D.Kamalakannan and
Myself are the retired persons and are able to serve for the
necessities of our Residents in
the sphere of civic and peaceful living.
He said that it is essential to designate Thiru.D.Kamalakannan as '
CHAIRMAN - ASSOCIATION MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE' for involving himself
more actively and for approaching the authorities officially with
Designation for effective actions. The Office Bearers discussed the
same earlier and decided in unison to Designate him as 'Chairman'
instead as 'Founder President and Advisor'. All the Members assembled
have appreciated and approved unanimously.
The Secretary Thiru. V.S.Srikanth emphasized on the achievements of
the Association
during the past one year. To mention a few, the Park Named “ Mahatma
Gandhi Park ”
in Phase I was opened on our Independence Day 15-08-2009 and the
National Flag was
hoisted by one of our distinguished resident Thiru.R. Thiagarajan. The
Park has been
fenced with Barbed wires and Mesh and provided with a Grill Gate using
the 'Park
Development Fund' Rs.500/- contributed by each Member. Thiru.
Suseendran Samuel of
M/S. Pelican Equipments has donated Rs. 5,000/- and
Mr.MohanKrishnaKumar Vice-
President of our Assn. donated Rs. 2500/- for the Park Fund. 16 Nos.
of Tree Saplings
were planted with the assistance of Forest Department supplying the
Saplings.
Aavin Milk Booth and Depot have been brought over to Nolambur at 4th
Main Road by
the efforts of our Association. Ten Street Lights have been got
erected additionally in the
Nagar, providing plans ,getting payment of Rs. 95,000 to TNEB on
09-04-2009,
sanctioned from Village Panchayat and following it up with TNEB for
nearly 8 months,
got installed on 10-12-2009. The poor condition of the Streets and the
50 Feet Main
Road has been brought to the Notice of all the authorities from
Village Panchayat
President to the Chief Minister many times, but still to get Remedy.
The poor condition and the Encroachment of the NOLAMBUR 50 FEET MAIN
ROAD
of V.G.N.Nagar which is the main path for all Nolambur Residents has
been published in
the News Papers namely ' The Hindu, “ Down Town ”dated 30-05-2010, The
Times of
India in ' the Times of Anna Nagar' , The Mogappair Talk dated
16-22,May 2010,
Mogappair Times dated 18-04-2010, 09-05-2010 and 16-05-2010. The
Residents await
that things will turn good in the Near Future since the Constituency
M.L.A.
Thiru. B.Ranganathan has visited on 09-05-2010 approached by the
Office Bearers of the five
Associations at his residence on 08-05-2010. The Association's efforts
for a Delivery
Post- Office at Nolambur was also informed to the members.
The Association has taken initiative to bring all the eligible
residents to Voters List by
visiting all residents and getting the Forms and handing over to the
Electoral Registration
Officers, Ambattur. Also for the Enumeration of the Census ,the
Association helped the
Teachers on the Job.
The President Thiru.George Philips put forth the necessity for the
funds to improve the
Park for actual usage by putting a walking track for which the
Association will strive
forward. He informed that he along with D.Kamalakannan and
T.MohanKrishnakumar
have met The Hon. Minister for CMDA Thiru. Parithy Elamvazhuthi and
presented a
petition emphasizing on the poor condition and encroachment of the 50
Feet Main Road
of V.G.N.Nagar. The Hon. Minister promised to look into the matter.
Thiru. J.Dhandapani, Treasurer presented the audited Income and
Expenditure Report
and Balance Sheet of the Assn., for the Year 2009-2010. The Financial
Report has been
approved.
Thiru. D.Kamalakannan Chairman Designate thanked all Office Bearers
and Executive
Members of the Association for their sincere initiative in joining
while meeting the
Authorities with Representations. He thanked the members for their
full support to
himself and Office Bearers. He thanked and congratulated the Park
Development Fund
Donors and he said that the Assn., wished to honour Thiru. Suseendran
Samuel, Plot
No.28&29 of M/S. Pelican Equipments who has donated highest and
requested him to
Plant a tree (No. 17) in the Park. He accepted and planted the Tree
while all members
clapped in appreciation. He putforth that Second Cross Street, Third
Cross Street of
Phase I and Channel Road of Phase II have to be provided at the
entrances with Concrete
Name Boards as “ V.G.N.Nagar Phase 1 to 4 Nolambur” to locate by
visitors easily.
Thiru. SrinivasaRaghavan, Joint Secretary thanked the Members for
their
cooperation with Association for the efforts. The Meeting concluded
with National
Anthem.
