hi Group
i am new to Linux/unix ...
i am about to start my carrier as a system admin ...
and i want to learn scripting language
i knew C and C++ but for shake of my knowledge i want to know
which is best SCRIPTING language for Linux system admin

i have heard about bash scripting, perl scripting, python
or is there any other which might be widely use to perform tasks of sys admin

i am requesting to all of my seniors that pls give your suggestion to me ...that
which is best and widely used...?

Hi,

Shell script is the best thing to start with, then moving ahead with perl,python,gtk,c,c++ would help you to do kernel programming and device drivers development also. You can also learn shell script with cgi for browser based programming,ruby on rails and php too.
