bad PBR sig

Dear All

 

            when I installed solaris in new hdd, its completed the installation and gives the error   Bad PBR sig  error

 

             but if I install the RHEL-5 and then Install the solaris its working .  so pls help for the same.

I think this is the issue related with bootloader might be solaris
cannot identify the parameters but grub boots the solaris in RHEL 5..

Why dont you try ,

XEN or virtual box for salaris

I guess it could be one of this issue

Loading PBR for descriptor 2 ... failed" would be the exact error message if the MBR is unable to load the partition boot record
CHS parameter mismatch between BIOS and Solaris, when the disk isn't configured for LBA mode. Try to configure the HDD to LBA mode in the system's BIOS.
