389 Directory Server client configuration on Ubuntu 13.04

Dear all,

As per subject i have configure 389 Directory Server on centos 6.5. now i want to configure ldap (389 Directory server) client on Ubuntu 13.04.  i have also completed client side configuration. when i fire getent passwd command i don't found any change as per ldap concept.

is it possible to make Ubuntu as a client of 389 directory server. if yes then how can.

pl guide me.
