CentOS 7 OS compatibility with Intel Core 2 Duo/ Dual Core Processor

Hello,

As everyone is well aware that CentOS / RHEL 7 provides only 64 bit platform. So, I would like to know whether it can be installed on Core 2 Duo/ Dual Core machine.

Below is the existing processor information.

[root@linuxbox ~]$ grep model /proc/cpuinfo
model           : 23
model name      : Pentium(R) Dual-Core  CPU      E5400  @ 2.70GHz
model           : 23
model name      : Pentium(R) Dual-Core  CPU      E5400  @ 2.70GHz

According to my knowledge, both processor technologies just "emulates" 64-bit mode, and in fact it is a 32-bit processor...!!!

More ever, a 64 bit system consumes more memory than a 32 bit one, so what is the minimum CPU, RAM & Hard Drive space requirement to install RHEL 7 ?

You can check release notes http://wiki.centos.org/Manuals/ReleaseNotes/CentOS7 and you can give it a try booting trial & error at times is more helpful.
