Problems with Sound

I installed the latest version of OPEN SUSE (IDE) in my PC
but the sound is very low..also tried to manage the sound from the
control centre..but evn the max. sound sounds low, also tried fixing
my speakers bt the sound output is still low..wat shall i do to
amplifty it more??

Hi Manan,

OpenSuse is Linux distribution, not IDE!

Try: "alsamixer" (without quotes) from command-line (ie Terminal) and
see if any level is muted or low. You can use Arrow keys to navigate
and up-down key to increase-decrease sound levels.

From next time, always give distribution and version name - so that
one can identify issue easily.

my distributer is NOVELL and im using Open Suse 11.3
im unable to start the system now..
during the boot process..its coming
 'fsck failed for atleast one file system'
'run fsck manually'

what shall i do to get rid of this problem
