Dear Fellow GameSat Developers -
I inadvertently scheduled our first meeting during Midterms. So many
could not make it.
To prevent this happening again, could
someone else please be our
meeting arranger? Thanks.
A) The Meeting
was pleasantly productive, where we few explored simple retro-game
ideas that could expand into a more complex space opera. The three
games we discussed were:
1)
Asteroid Hopper - Dodging speeding rocks in an asteroid
belt to get to a target asteroid.
(a combo of the retro Frogger & retro Island
Hopper)
2)
Asteroid Harvester - Land on and harvest an asteroid.
(from retro Lunar Lander with a D&D twist)
3) Manage a
Martian Colony (Dwarf Fortress
takeoff)
B) Action Items
Decide on the simplest game to implement. We will decide at our next
meeting, which may be online via Google Hangouts.
Think about task selection and implementation.
Decide your preferred role in the game development crew.
C) Please watch for an
http://DOODLE.com
survey to find the best time(s) to meet.
D) While leaving our first meeting, Mark made an offhand request
for code to
move a rocket from point A to point B. Monica
volunteered to help develop a specification for a library of Astronautic
tools to meet Mark's request. We'll make it easy with a callable
library to do the heavy lifting (no pun intended ;-) ).
