There are two events coming up in August so please save the date if you are able to attend either, or both.
Annual VFX Reference Platform Birds of a Feather @ SIGGRAPH
- Thursday, August 4th, 12pm PT / 3pm ET / 8pm BST
- Virtual event via Zoom
- Open only to SIGGRAPH attendees registered as Experience Plus or above
- Agenda: CY2023 discussion, and preview of the VFX Linux Task Force recommendations and report.
Please note this SIGGRAPH session is taking place the week before the in-person conference, and it will not be recorded. Unfortunately, BoF session attendance requires a more expensive registration level this year than in previous years.
Happening Thursday this week!
Good news - seems like the session will be recorded after all, but it would only be accessible by SIGGRAPH attendees.
Bad news - The BoF still requires at least Experience Plus registration to be eligible to join.
ASWF event keynote: Future of Linux for Professional Artist Workstations
- Tuesday, August 9th, 9:05-9:45 am PT / 12:05-12:45 pm ET / 5:05-5:45 pm BST
- Hybrid event - choice of in-person or virtual
- Free registration is required - details coming soon
- Agenda: VFX Linux Task Force recommendations to secure the future of Linux as a sustainable, desirable, and more accessible option for workstations at VFX and animation studios.
Free in-person registration for the ASWF event next week is now available at:
In-person attendance for this ASWF event also requires SIGGRAPH registration.
Still waiting for info on how people can register to attend virtually. This talk will be recorded and posted publicly on the ASWF YouTube channel.
