I apologize for the meeting confusion earlier in the month. The Board is meeting in December to work out the kinks (getting me out of the technology is the first step) and get the January meeting set up. We also have elections to finish so plans are being made for that. Remember the VP, Treasurer and 3 members at large need to be voted on. Please support your organization, we are not asking for a major time commitment. Your family and jobs come first, we all understand that. If you take a position and are struggling with the duties, reach out to your fellow board members or Coalition members. Tell them what is going on and it will be worked out.

This organization needs your support and involvement but you can only give what you can give. Together we can make this organization strong again, if we don't other groups will fill in. And they may not have our best interests at heart. Look at the history of education in the FD, we are not always supported. We need this group to be our statewide voice, we also need to reach out to the volunteer educators. They are not well represented in our group. In addition we also need those that are not in the FD but are involved in CRR/FLSE to share and collaborate. Again strength in numbers is the way to make ourselves heard. Also we don't need to reinvent the wheel (there are enough "wheels" out there already) by working with other groups we can use what's there. 

There is amazing collaboration going on at the national level, we need to be working on that in VA as well.
