Community Risk Reduction (CRR) Week 2023 kicks off on Martin Luther King Day, a National Day of Service, which is Monday, January 16, 2023. It runs through Sunday, January 22.

What is @crrweek? This is an effort by fire safety professionals from across the nation to help promote the awareness of Community Risk Reduction within the fire service and the community. 

Our goal is to help mitigate risks within our community. Some examples include, but not limited to, installing new smoke alarms, teaching CPR, creating home fire escape plans, assisting with the community on wildland urban interface (WUI), putting together emergency kits, working with our school systems, or discussing simple home fire & fall safety measures with community groups.

We believe that having a week set aside to encourage everyone to learn more about our department, our operations, our approach to CRR, our various fire and EMS safety programs is important. We encourage everyone to take actions to help reduce risks both individually and across our community.
