We are sharing information and the zoom link to our remaining CRR Kitchen Table sessions for 2023.
Wednesday, November 8 at 2 pm eastern: For our November session, Tracey Fest of the Boston Volunteer Fire Department in New York will be with us to talk about the outreach, education, and CRR efforts in her community. Tracey is a volunteer firefighter and a certified Fire & Life Safety Educator as well as a dental professional in her community. During this session, we will be talking about how volunteer departments do the work of community safety, how her department addresses the needs of vulnerable populations, and interesting community partnerships that drive success. Whether you serve in a career, combination, or volunteer department, please join us for this session ready to share your ideas for outreach and engagement!
Wednesday, December 6 at 2 pm eastern: In December, Deputy Fire Marshal Marc Massella and Inspector Adam Chrisman from Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue in West Bradenton, Florida will be at the table. The Cedar Hammock team is doing LOTS of interesting work in the risk reduction space and is currently working to formalize their work through policy development, coalition building, and standards-driven practice (Yes – NFPA 1300! 😊) They are in the same place as many of our Kitchen Table participants and we thought this would be a great discussion to have to wrap up 2023: How do ensure that all of your great work is as impactful as it can be? If you currently have policy around CRR in your department, please join us to share how this works in your own department! This session will dig into your experiences of moving from the “spray and pray” approach to a more data-informed, goal-oriented risk reduction plan – and what it takes to make it stick.
As always, please feel free to share with others who may be interested but also ask new participants to email C...@nfpa.org so we can add them to the CRR Kitchen Table invitation list.
