Good afternoon,
We have updated a number of web pages for your winter campaigns. Our Keep Warm Keep Safe toolkit has updated flyers, videos, an op-ed piece for your local newspaper, a customizable press release, PowerPoint™ presentation, Home Heating Safety in 7 languages, public service announcements in English and Spanish, and the KWKS logo. As we enter the heating season, where we see a number of heating related fires and deaths, this toolkit can assist you in your public fire and life safety initiatives.
Our Smoke Alarm Campaign toolkit, “Smoke Alarms, A Sound You Can Live With” includes an op-ed piece, a roadside message board text, links to English and Spanish public service announcements, a FireFactor and the campaign logo. We know working smoke alarms save lives, and this toolkit can assist you in promoting your own smoke alarm campaigns. There is also a link to our page on Carbon Monoxide Safety.
We have a webpage for Thanksgiving fire safety. This wonderful holiday can be ruined by a cooking or candle fire. Information on this page will assist you in getting the message out about fire safety around the holiday.
Another toolkit is the Home Oxygen Safety page. Information about home oxygen use, flyers, posters, a public service announcement and a PowerPoint™ presentation is available. Helpful information about quitting smoking and links to other agencies are also included. You can order the pamphlets and poster in quantity from the Health Information Clearinghouse.
We have developed a Resources for Fire Educators page that provides fire and life safety educators resources to assist with your programs. It has links to information about the S.A.F.E. and Senior SAFE program, as well as contests, special events, teaching tools and items to borrow. There are also links to various campaigns. The Curriculum Guidebook is available on this page, as well as the 3rd, 6th and 10th grade evaluation tools.
We also have a new page that replaces the old Fire Safety Topics page called DFS Fire Education Handouts and Flyers the lists all the FireFactors and educational handouts.
I hope you will bookmark these webpages, and take advantage of these kits and information!
Have a great weekend,
Cindy
