  • Some optional safety themes or messaging for May could include Motorcycle Safety Month; Bike Safety Month; Electrical Safety Month; Water and Boating Safety Month; Wildfire Awareness Month; and Stroke Awareness Month
  • Reminder Safe Boating Week May 20-26th 
  • For those interested in some “If Found – Contact” decals, and  materials, I have confirmed that they can contact their local USCG Aux units to obtain. Example below.
  • Reminder EMS Week from May 21-27th
  • Reminder Memorial Day 2023 is May 29th
  • Reminder Dam Safety Day on May 31st
  • USFA recently did a campaign of materials for “Fire Escape Planning for People with Disabilities” as part of their High-Risk Population series. This may be a good opportunity for us to use these materials as high-risk populations are identified in CWYC and FLSE as well as part of the broader USFA campaign for “Home Fire Safety”
  • USFA and various other entities have continued to push out information related to Lithium-Ion batteries and first responder safety.
  • Finally, FEMA EMI will be rolling out a new LMS in July EMI | News and Announcements (fema.gov)
