Hi everyone,
There is one week left for applying to Mekong Data Journalism Fellowship round 2. Please help to spreading the word. Or if you find it’s interesting, please apply for yourself.
Launched in early 2021, Mekong Data Journalism Fellowship is jointly run by EJN and the East-West Center in partnership with the Stimson Center. The program has provided journalists skills to turn data into powerful news stories that reflect the threats and potential solutions facing the Mekong River. We expect to name 20 journalists based in the Mekong countries with US$3,000 in individual grants to cover story production and offset their time participating in the round-two fellowship.
Over four months (Aug – Nov 2021), Fellows will join a series of virtual seminars on water security themes, attend a part-time 40-hour face-to-face virtual data journalism training, and receive one-on-one mentorship support to produce a data-driven media story. The training will be offered in English (with Burmese language support) and Khmer. The exact dates and times of the training and seminars will be set later according to participating journalists’ schedules.
Once participants have completed the training portion of the Fellowship, Fellows will pitch a data-driven story idea to the trainers and mentors, who will then guide them through the step-by-step story production process that Fellows have learned during the training program.
Application Deadline: 27 June 2021, 11:59 PM, (UTC +07).
