Subject: Reminder: 2024 WSC Founder's Cup

Gentle Reminder: More than one team’s worth of players have signed up already. Don’t miss out - Please make payment one of the three ways listed below to reserve your spot.

Dear Team Organizers and Players:

Here we go again! The Wissahickon Skating Club Founder’s Cup details are:

Sat. & Sun. March 23 & 24 – SAVE THE DATES!

  1. Usual, fun format of a draft/mixer to make 4 teams of mixed “C” level skills with most guys in the 45-60 year old range. Many of us play against one another during the regular season. So, “shuffling the deck” is a great way to reconnect, get know familiar faces and make new friends
  2. Relaxed atmosphere – Any on ice bullshit results in lost tourney privileges and no refund (although, I’m pleased to report that this has never happened!)
  3. Sat. night festivities! This is when memories are made. The stories that come out of the dinner and bar crawl in Conshohocken are hilarious, but what happens in Conshy stays between us.
  4. Easy game times as per below. Minimum of 3 games played.  The two finalist teams will get a 4th game.
  5. Health protocol: WSC is within the limits of the city of Philadelphia. So, we are subject to whatever requirements are in place at the time.
  6. Fee: $ 150 per player and includes ice times, refs., commemorative jersey OR golf shirt with embroidered logo, unlimited beer, N.A. sport bevs., soda, bottled water, hearty snacks, coffee and bagels in the AMs throughout the weekend.

To reserve a spot in the draft, all players must e-mail me using the address above with 5 items:

·               Name

·               E-mail address

·               Age

·               Position (D or Forward)

·               Line (1rst, 2nd or 3rd as a rough approximation of relative skill for this age group)

There are 3 ways to reserve a spot by making the $ 150 payment:

1. Mail a check to:

George Brooke

1106 Minutemen Lane

Eagleville, PA 19403

2. or use Venmo: https://venmo.com/GBrooke3 (My profile has a picture of a light brown dog. Also, you may have to use your phone to do this because the desktop app. may not allow payments.)

3. or use PayPal: www.paypal.me/GeorgeBrooke, no fee if you use “Send money to friends or family”

Team organizers: feel free to forward this note to your team distribution list to ensure they receive this info.  However, capacity is 60 players.  So, we will start a waiting list after that.

Don't get shut out. The timing of confirmed payments determines who is in or out. This blend of evenly matched teams, good hockey and fun is a great way to wind down the season.  Looking forward to seeing you again!
