Some Green Winged Wet Flys arrived from LA and the vice of Mark Delaney. Luckily the bride was not home because she would have ran for the Raid . Nice flys Mark! and thanks for Joining the swap. That leaves flys from four tyers/tiers left to arrive. Another set is in the mail. You don't want to be last do you (like I usually am)?

Cold and windy here in N. CA. Rained last night and dipped below freezing again. Almost completed the house siding. One more side, box in the windows and paint. Then no more BIG projects other than the usual "honeydos" for the summer. Guess what I am going to do. Nope not that but close.
Anyway have a good day and tightlines to all!!!

Hi all,

OK - so it's been about 20 years since I've participated in a swap. However,
(now that I live someplace where I can fish more often AND since I am done with
school) I think that it's time to rectify that situation.

Is anyone interested in joining a Mayfly swap?
Dries, any style (parachute, Catskill, traditional, etc.)

Depending on interest it can be:
A) - 12 tiers, one bug each
or
B) - 6 tiers, two bugs each.

GREAT!

So - here's how things stand so far:

Jerry McKaughan
Jim Phillips
John Bennett
Michael Bliss
Jim Hodson
Gary Smith
Chris Broomell

Since there are (so far) seven of us, we'll hold out for 5 more and do a dozen
of a single pattern (your choice).

Bugs are due June 1 (if this is a problem with anyone please let me know...I'm
sure that we're flexible).

Flies should be sent to:
Chris Broomell
2508 Annie St.
Bozeman, MT 59718

Include appropriate postage. First flies in will get a few bonus flies from me
(that is actually considered punishment in most circles).

Thanks for participating...I'm stoked!

Jim,

How about any MAYFLY (i.e. no attractors, grasshoppers, etc.). Now - admittedly
- this does leave some room for interpretation. I've heard some argue that an
Adams can represent a Callibaetis....there's even a female Adams (the only
female Wulff that I know of, although she IS practically Royal, is not a
fly...).

Hope this helps.

Chris

Sorry to piggy-back this on top of another, and I don't want to use the e-mails regarding Mark Delaney for this.  I have sent  a couple of posts to the list with the old vfb address.  The posts didn't ever show up.  This is for another new swap.  Anyone interested in a spider pattern swap?  I have an easy-to-tie spider pattern that is very effective on brushy streams.  I will take 10 swappers for this SPIDER SWAP.   Due end of June.   Details to follow.

I am doing a Brown Extended Body Mayfly.
Can you give me a hint as to what names are used for Mayfly Nymphs. I have seen anything from PTBH to Zulus listed as a Mayfly Nymph. Again confusion is one of my normal conditions as well as being a newer tyer that started tying small (1/32) jigs for Eagle Lake Trout (now I use my fly rod and 1/80 and 1/100 jigs) 12 years ago and real flys four years ago.
