Play Feature in VexTab

Hello,

First of all, I'd like to congratulate you for your work: it's wonderful!

I do have a simple question, though... I downloaded VexTab, and managed to make it work almost completely.

The only thing (as far as I've noticed) is that I can't get the player to work... I put the player=true option in the div, and in the canvas it seems to move down the tabs a bit (to make room for what seems to be the place for the stop and play buttons). However, the buttons aren't rendered.

Maybe it was something wrong I did during the installation, since I'm running it on Windows and had some trouble running "bundle install" command, and had to compile the coffee and jison files manually.`

It seems not to have the Vex.Flow.Player defined in any javascript files in Vextab.

In which javascript should it be? Maybe I did something wrong?

Any help is appreciated.

Hi André,

My understanding from Mohit is that the player is separate from the VexFlow and VexTab codebases.

It's pulled into MyVexFlow I think.

I went through the same thing myself only yesterday.

Dear sir,

I'm writing from Japan and also looking forward to the Player being added to VexFlow codebases.

I think VexFlow and VexTab are quite useful tools for students interested in Music Theory.

now I and some people are designing a Music Theory Reference in Japanese with VexFlow.
and it would be great if there's the player; readers would not be forced to sit in front of Piano.

anyway, I'm glad that you created these great tools and I got to know them.

Hi all,

Sorry to reopen such an old thread, but I'm having a similar issue even though it looks like support has been added for VexTab.

In other words, there's now a player.coffee file in the VexTab source code, but setting "player=true" still doesn't actually make a player show up.

Am I missing something? Or is playback still not supported?
