HI today I went into intel driver & Support Assisant I waited for it to scan my dell laptop. Today it came up with a Graphics driver for my laptop. So I let it download first and then I pushed on the installation wizard. Then after the terms screen I pushed next. The next screen showed what the intel graphics intaller was going to install. It said it was going to install the graphics driver, intel command center. What I want to now is whether I should check the box to excute a clean install. Is it safe to do this I do not want to mess up my dell laptop.

In your case, my advise is not to check the "clean install" box. By doing this your currently installed driver will be uninstalled and you will loose the ability to roll back driver in case that the new one will not function correctly. You should be aware (this is also explained in the Detailed Description on the Driver Download page) , that this is Intel Generic Driver and you may loose all customization prepared by the OEM for your laptop. Therefore, it is advised to use graphics drivers from the OEM site.

You should not describe your problem in this thread, since you may have other computer. Any way, if your computer works OK, in my opinion you may disregard this Windows Update errors. Those are Optional Updates and better to disable it. Download and install Drivers from the OEM site rather than from Windows. The Microsoft Catalog is not always updated.

I use windows Insider, so I usually update my computer and I don't want to be incapable to do so. Am just asking if I can use sfc /scannow or DISM /Online to fix it because I saw online that the Error is either "missing files in the Windows Update or Windows Update can't locate the Microsoft Software License Terms". So am assuming It's the first one.

I didn't wrote "you should not describe your problem here" but I wrote "You should not describe your problem in this thread, since you may have other computer." This some one else thread with other problem, other hardware and could be other solution. So, I meant to say that you should open a new thread.

Intel does not verify all solutions, including but not limited to any file transfers that may appear in this community. Accordingly, Intel disclaims all express and implied warranties, including without limitation, the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, as well as any warranty arising from course of performance, course of dealing, or usage in trade.

So I recently asked the store where I bought my laptop (Nitro 5) to update the Bios of my computer. After I got my computer back, they told me that all the drivers were updated, but I installed the Intel Driver Update program at home and update the drivers, or I thought so. The Intel Killer update failed. I tried a lot of times to update it without succes. The error that shows me says: "The installation has failed with the error code 1073807364". Also I noticed that the revision date of the update is from January 9th 2024. Can someone help me with this? (Also I'm sorry if my english is kind of bad, I'm not a native english speaker).

Before we proceed, let me check. Are you using the web base Intel Driver & Support Assistant to update the drivers and you are getting an error? There are a lot of possible causes why Intel Driver & Support Assistant may have error updating the drivers because it is web based.

I have been able to update my driver direct from Intel, but now my PC is having sleep/wake problems. Not sure if this is from using the Intel version instead of the HP version. It would be nice if HP took the latest Intel driver and packaged it so that I can update from the HP site.

A driver is software written for a specific operating system (OS). The OS uses the driver to communicate with a specific hardware device. Intel develops graphics drivers so that Windows* operating systems can communicate with specific Intel graphics devices.

Intel has generic versions of the Intel Graphics Drivers available but recommends using drivers from your computer manufacturer. The computer manufacturer can offer customized versions of the Intel Graphics Drivers for your particular computer model.

That said, if there are any specific issues with the updates offered at the HP Support Assistant, you will be notified prior to download as we wouldn't want you to go through any issues, if some issues occur accidentally, you can always rollback the driver using the device manager.

You really did not answer my question. When Intel issues a new driver, which is about every month, does HP modify it before posting it on their website or in Download Assistant? If no, I can just get the update from Intel and not wait for HP updates that do not install properly and are not timely. If not, I won't do the updates. If HP would just treat their customers properly, we would have good, updated drivers.

In other words, yes, HP does modify the drivers so its compatible with other components on the device and I'm afraid its not every month, the updates released on the HP website, which is redirected to the HP Support Assistant, is only updated when there are major changes released by Intel or other hardware manufacturers.

Thanks...I would rather use the HP posted driver if possible. There are 2 Intel graphics drivers on the website for my PC, HP 15-cs00064st that will not install...the one dated May 31, 2019 says not supported by OS and the one dated 12/6/19 starts installing, but goes into CMD and never finishes. I don't get these in HP Assistant either. I will not buy another HP if this continues. Can you get someone to fix those drivers?

@SteveD3 I've reported this to the concerned team, however, there's no saying when they'd have a driver modified as such, it depends on updates, only when it has major changes to offer and/or when the device is within 4yrs from purchase, is when the updates are modified and updated for the device.

I am not asking for a new driver, just fix the broken ones that are posted. It must be a major update since they posted them. Plus Intel has reported multiple security issues on that graphics driver that should be updated. My PC is a year old and I expect drivers that are posted by HP will install properly,

I was wondering whether purging the current drivers & 'reinstalling' them again would help detect the graphic hardware I have on my system. For info, my system is a Lenovo X220 Thinkpad:i5 2420M 6Gb RAMOnboard Graphic Card

Using an updated gcc (6.2.0) and a newer kernel (4.8) was helpful for me. I couldn't upgrade to 16.04 from 14.04 and couldn't risk destroying a system I've built for years. Looks like I'm going to be building my Ubuntu software manually from now on..

Over the past week or so, I've been trying to update my graphics driver to the latest version but to no avail. When I first started, I didn't think it was that much of a problem as my Intel Driver & Support Assistant has at one point, continuously failed to update to the latest graphics driver until a few days later.

However, when I let the graphics driver be for a while now and after coming back to it, it still wouldn't update. And by failing to update, I mean as in, the Intel Driver & Support Assistant would tell me to install the driver, then the driver would try to install and extract. Suddenly, the installer would crash and disappear from my task bar, before the Intel Driver & Support Assistant would tell me that the graphics driver failed to install.

I tried manually installing the driver myself through the website, and it didn't work. I tried updating the graphics driver through the control panel method, but it didn't work. And as a last resort, I used DDU and then tried to manually install the driver, but nothing seems to be helping my graphics driver installer to stop crashing after extraction. I don't know what to do anymore, and I am so tired of having to look through several articles, only to find out that it still failed to install after doing their instructions.

SSU: Please download and scan your system using our tool, Intel System Support Utility so we can help check your system info first. Once finished downloading, open the tool, click on scan 'Everything', click next, then save the system information to a .txt file. Please provide the .txt file.

I'd like to emphasize that Intel offers generic software and driver versions. However, it's important to note that when it comes to laptops, the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) often introduces specific modifications, customizations, or other adjustments.

We recommend testing with the HP driver to see if the behavior is different. You can download the driver using the previous link. You may also check with them if they recommend installing the additional Monitor/Display drivers.

We sincerely regret that the issue is still persisting despite your efforts, including a clean installation of both the OEM and Intel drivers. Rest assured, we are fully committed to resolving this matter and will delve deeper into our research to uncover a potential solution.

Try another clean installation without an ethernet connection (No WIFI) just running the drivers, from the device manager delete all drivers until you see the MS display adapter then run the latest version 31.0.101.4885
